Lippert 1/4 in. Straight Fitting OEM Replacement Lippert 113131 Hydraulic Straight Fitting -- 1/4 in. Flare MNPT x MNPT (6400-04-04)

A direct OEM replacement fitting for Lippert hydraulic slide-out systems. When a leaking or damaged hydraulic line fitting is holding your slide-out down -- or keeping it from retracting -- this is the part that gets it moving again. Correct thread type and geometry matters in hydraulic systems, and this fitting is built to Lippert spec.

Exact OEM Fit for Lippert Hydraulic Slide-Out Systems

Lippert hydraulic slide-out systems operate under significant hydraulic pressure, and every fitting in the circuit has to seal correctly. The 113131 (Lippert cross-reference 6400-04-04) is a straight-body hydraulic fitting with a 1/4 in. Flare Male NPT on one end and a 1/4 in. Male NPT on the other -- designed to connect rigid or flexible hydraulic lines within the Lippert slide-out power unit or distribution block.

This is not a generic plumbing fitting. The Flare MNPT end seats against a corresponding flare seat, creating a metal-to-metal seal suited for hydraulic fluid service. Using the wrong fitting type -- such as a standard NPT compression or barb -- can result in leaks under pressure. Always match end types exactly when replacing hydraulic fittings.

Straight Geometry

Inline straight-body design routes hydraulic lines without bends or angle changes at the fitting, reducing stress on adjacent hose or tubing.

Flare MNPT x MNPT

End 1 is a 1/4 in. Flare Male NPT for a metal-to-metal flare seat seal. End 2 is a standard 1/4 in. Male NPT for threaded port connections.

OEM Lippert Part

Sold under Lippert part number 113131, cross-referenced as 6400-04-04. Direct replacement with no modification required on qualifying systems.

Hydraulic System Grade

Rated for hydraulic fluid service as used in Lippert electric-over-hydraulic and dedicated hydraulic slide-out power units.

Where This Fitting Is Used

Lippert hydraulic slide-out systems are found across a wide range of fifth wheels, travel trailers, and motorhomes. The hydraulic circuit connects the pump unit to one or more hydraulic cylinders that extend and retract the slide room. Fittings like the 113131 appear at the pump outlet, manifold ports, and inline connections along the hydraulic lines.

Common failure points that require this fitting include: hydraulic fluid seeping from a cracked or cross-threaded fitting body, a stripped NPT thread at a manifold port, or a fitting damaged during a hose replacement. Inspect all fittings when you have the hydraulic system open -- a fitting showing corrosion or weeping fluid at the thread should be replaced proactively.

Direct OEM Replacement: Lippert part number 113131 (also referenced as 6400-04-04) installs in place of the original fitting with no drilling, tapping, or adapter required on systems that originally used this fitting.

Installation Tips

  • Relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before removing any fitting. Retract slides fully and shut down the hydraulic pump.
  • Have rags and a small drain pan ready -- residual hydraulic fluid will escape when the fitting is removed.
  • Clean the mating port threads before installation. Inspect the female port for damage or stripped threads.
  • Apply thread sealant appropriate for hydraulic service (PTFE tape or anaerobic thread sealant rated for petroleum-based hydraulic fluid) to the NPT end only. Do NOT apply sealant to the flare seating surface.
  • Tighten to snug plus 1-2 turns by hand, then torque to the fitting manufacturer spec for 1/4 in. NPT hydraulic fittings -- do not overtighten, as this can crack the port boss or distort the flare seat.
  • After installation, cycle the slide-out and inspect for leaks under pressure before returning the coach to service.
Heads Up: Hydraulic fittings are not interchangeable by size alone. Confirm that your existing fitting is a Flare MNPT x MNPT configuration before ordering. If your system uses JIC, ORB (O-ring boss), or compression fittings, a different part number is required.
Hydraulic Fluid Compatibility: Lippert hydraulic slide-out systems typically use automatic transmission fluid (ATF) or a compatible hydraulic fluid as specified in the coach manufacturer documentation. This fitting is compatible with petroleum-based hydraulic fluids used in these systems.
Maintenance Reminder: Inspect all hydraulic fittings annually and after any hard travel season. Tighten any fittings showing minor seepage before they develop into full leaks. A visual check takes minutes; a roadside hydraulic repair does not.

Important Information
  • Always depressurize the hydraulic system fully before removing any fitting. Hydraulic fluid under pressure can cause serious injury.
  • Verify your existing fitting is a 1/4 in. Flare MNPT x MNPT configuration -- do not substitute fitting types in a hydraulic circuit.
  • Do not apply thread sealant to the flare seating surface. Sealant on the flare face can prevent proper metal-to-metal seating and cause leaks.
  • Inspect the mating port in the manifold or pump body for thread damage before installing the new fitting. A damaged female port will not seal correctly even with a new fitting.
  • After installation, perform a full pressure cycle and inspect for leaks before road use. A fitting that leaks at operating pressure must be reseated or replaced before the vehicle is moved.
  • This fitting is sold individually. Order the quantity needed to replace all damaged fittings in the circuit at the same time.
