Lippert 7,000-lb Axle Rated Pre-Installed Bearings

Lippert 2024013260 -- 12-Inch Complete Brake Hub Kit with Installed Bearings

A ready-to-install wheel-end solution for compatible 7,000-lb trailer axles. The hub arrives with bearings already packed and installed, so you skip the messy setup and get back on the road faster. Fits the common 8 on 6.5-inch bolt pattern with 1/2-inch wheel studs. One hub assembly per kit.

Drop-In Replacement Hub for 7K Trailer Axles

The Lippert 2024013260 is a complete brake hub assembly engineered for 7,000-lb capacity trailer axles. It replaces worn or damaged hubs on travel trailers, fifth-wheels, toy haulers, and other towable RVs that use the 8 on 6.5-inch (8x165.1mm) bolt pattern. The alternate Lippert part number for this assembly is K-122465; the vendor cross-reference is 08-7937.

Unlike bare hubs that require you to source, pack, and press bearings separately, this kit arrives with inner and outer tapered roller bearings already installed and pre-greased. The 12-inch drum-compatible hub face accommodates standard 12-inch electric brake drums used across most Lippert and comparable axle platforms rated at 7,000 lb.

Pre-Installed Bearings

Inner and outer tapered roller bearings packed and seated at the factory -- no bench pressing required before mounting.

12-Inch Hub Face

Sized for 12-inch electric brake drum assemblies standard on 7,000-lb axle platforms.

8 on 6.5" Bolt Circle

Eight-lug pattern on a 6.5-inch (165.1mm) bolt circle -- a common configuration on heavy-duty towable RVs.

1/2" Wheel Studs

Standard 1/2-inch diameter studs pressed into the hub flange and ready to accept your existing lug nuts.

What Is Included

This kit covers one complete hub end. The package includes:

  • One 12-inch brake hub with 8 on 6.5-inch bolt pattern
  • Inner tapered roller bearing -- pre-greased and installed
  • Outer tapered roller bearing -- pre-greased and installed
  • Eight 1/2-inch wheel studs pressed into the hub flange
  • Inner grease seal installed
  • Dust cap

Ready to Install

Bearings are packed with grease and pressed into the hub at the factory. Clean the spindle, slide the hub assembly on, torque the spindle nut to spec, install the cotter pin and dust cap, and you are done. Significantly reduces bench time compared to building up a hub from individual components.

Brake Drum Compatibility

This hub is designed to work with 12-inch electric brake drums. The drum itself is not included in this kit. If you are also replacing the drum, verify that your drum uses the same 8 on 6.5-inch bolt pattern and is rated for a 7,000-lb axle. Lippert and compatible aftermarket 12-inch drums bolt directly to this hub face.

One Hub Per Kit -- Order Two for a Full Axle

This listing covers a single hub assembly. A standard trailer axle has two wheel ends. If you are servicing both sides of one axle, add two kits to your cart. If you are servicing a tandem-axle trailer, you will need four kits total.

Confirm Your Axle Rating and Bolt Pattern Before Ordering

This hub is rated for 7,000-lb axles only. Do not use on axles rated below or above that capacity. Verify your existing bolt pattern is 8 on 6.5 inches and your studs are 1/2-inch diameter before ordering. Mismatched hubs create an unsafe wheel-end condition.

Installation Notes

Before installing the hub, inspect the spindle for scoring, pitting, or wear. A damaged spindle will destroy new bearings quickly. Clean all mating surfaces and verify the spindle nut and cotter pin are the correct size for your axle. Torque the spindle nut according to your axle manufacturer's specification -- typically a snug tighten, back off, and re-torque method to achieve the correct bearing preload. Repack or replace the grease in the bearing cavity if the hub will sit unused for an extended period before installation.

Maintenance Reminder

Trailer wheel bearings should be inspected and repacked at least once per season or every 10,000 to 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Even with pre-greased bearings, heat cycling and moisture ingress over time will degrade the grease. Check the grease seal for weeping at each inspection and replace immediately if any leakage is found around the hub flange or drum face.

Important Safety Information

  • Rated for 7,000-lb axles only. Do not install on axles with a different weight rating. Overloading a hub is a wheel-separation hazard.
  • Verify bolt pattern before ordering. This hub is 8 on 6.5 inches. Installing a mismatched hub pattern can result in improper lug-nut seating and wheel loss.
  • One hub per kit. A full axle requires two kits. A tandem-axle trailer requires four kits.
  • Brake drum and brake assembly are NOT included. You must reuse your existing serviceable drum or purchase a compatible 12-inch drum separately.
  • Inspect the spindle before installation. A scored or worn spindle will damage new bearings and cause premature failure.
  • Do not exceed tow vehicle or trailer GVWR. Proper hub installation does not override the trailer's gross vehicle weight rating.
  • Wheel end service should be performed by a qualified technician if you are not familiar with bearing preload adjustment and brake system inspection procedures.
