Wheel clamp rings are a critical retention component on high-capacity trailer axles. On 10K and 12K Lippert axles, the clamp ring seats around the hub and holds the wheel in precise alignment with the lug stud pattern. When a clamp ring is bent, cracked, or corroded, it must be replaced before re-mounting the wheel -- a compromised ring can cause uneven lug loading and wheel instability under load.
Lippert part number 205049 is the correct replacement for 5/8" stud applications only. It is not interchangeable with clamp rings designed for smaller 1/2" stud axles. Always verify your stud diameter and axle capacity before ordering.
