Lippert 2021112871 -- Slide Topper Roller Cradle, Black
A center-mount cradle bracket that holds the slide topper roller tube in proper alignment -- preventing sag, vibration, and wind-induced banging on longer slide-out awnings. This is the factory-matched black cast replacement for worn, cracked, or missing original cradles in Lippert slide topper systems.
On slide toppers wider than roughly 8 feet, the roller tube spans a significant distance between its two end brackets. Without a mid-span cradle, the tube can flex, sag, and shift -- especially when driving or during high-wind conditions. That movement accelerates fabric wear, stresses the end caps, and can cause the entire roller to jump its track.
The Lippert 2021112871 roller cradle mounts to the RV sidewall between the two end brackets and cradles the roller tube from below, keeping it straight and centered across the full width of the slide-out. It is a direct OEM-style replacement and installs with basic hand tools.
Prevents roller tube sag and flex on wider slide toppers where end brackets alone are not enough.
Black cast bracket resists corrosion and holds its shape season after season under road vibration.
Matches original Lippert slide topper hardware. No drilling new holes or fabricating adapters.
Keeps roller tube from rattling or shifting during highway travel and gusty campsite conditions.
The roller cradle is a passive support -- it does not contain springs, locks, or moving parts. It simply provides a stable saddle point for the roller tube to rest against at mid-span. On awnings that have started to show a noticeable bow or droop in the center of the roller tube, adding or replacing this cradle is the correct fix before the problem causes fabric damage or roller failure.
The cradle mounts to the flat sidewall surface of the RV between the slide topper end brackets. Fastener holes in the cradle base align with the wall surface, and the saddle profile is sized to accept the roller tube diameter used in Lippert slide topper assemblies. Installation typically requires a drill, appropriate fasteners for your sidewall material, and a level.

Inspect all slide topper cradles and end brackets each spring before the season starts. Look for cracks in the casting, loose fasteners, and any signs that the roller tube has been riding against the cradle at an angle. Catching a failing cradle early prevents costly roller tube or fabric replacement later.
