The Lippert SolidStep is a fold-down, no-bounce entry step system built for full-time RVers and weekend warriors who want a solid, safe approach to their rig's door. Four steps with parallel-to-ground geometry, adjustable leg extensions for uneven terrain, and a rugged steel-and-aluminum build make this a genuine upgrade over flimsy OEM steps -- all in a package that stores cleanly inside the entry door when you roll out.
Standard fold-out RV steps flex, bounce, and collect road grime. The SolidStep system eliminates all three problems. Each step tread stays parallel to the ground as you deploy the unit, so there's no awkward angle to navigate when you're stepping out with an armload of groceries or stepping in after a wet hike. The rubber strip on every tread adds grip in wet conditions, and the extra-wide top step gives you a stable landing zone right at the threshold.
When it's time to move, two safety latches -- one on each side -- lock the SolidStep securely into the entryway. A built-in handle lets you disengage both latches easily without fumbling. In the stored position the unit sits inside the door opening, shielded from road debris, salt spray, and corrosion. The kickplate protects your RV's sidewall and skirt from contact damage during storage and travel.
Heavy-duty black steel construction eliminates the flex and bounce common to lightweight folding steps. Rated for 400 lbs.
Pin-style extendable legs adjust for uneven or sloped ground. Pivoting feet seat firmly on irregular surfaces so the unit doesn't rock.
Each step combines a lightweight aluminum tread with a rubber anti-slip strip for year-round grip in wet or muddy conditions.
Folds and latches inside the door opening -- out of the weather, away from road spray, and secured for highway travel.
The SolidStep 791575 covers entry heights from 35" to 44" off the ground, making it compatible with a wide range of Class A, Class C, fifth-wheel, and travel trailer entry door heights. The adjustable leg extensions handle the height variation, and the parallel-step geometry means every tread stays level regardless of where the legs are set. For sloped campsites, unlock the extendable leg latch, set the legs to compensate for the grade, and re-pin -- the pivoting foot takes care of minor surface irregularities automatically.
The SolidStep mounts to the existing door hardware and threshold using the included fasteners. Mounting screws are provided for both wood floor and laminate floor applications, so no separate hardware run is needed for most installs. The mounting bracket is 22-1/2" wide x 10-1/2" tall x 6" deep, with a bracket width range of 27-3/4" to 35-3/4" to span the doorway opening. Most installers complete the swap in under two hours using standard hand tools.
