The Lippert SolidStep is a rigid, no-bounce fold-down entry step system built for RV trailers with 30-36" doorways. It stores inside the entry door when traveling, keeping steps clean and protected from road debris. On-site, it unfolds in seconds with two safety latches and adjustable leg extensions that keep all three steps parallel to the ground -- even on uneven terrain.
Most folding RV steps flex, bounce, or fail to stay level when the ground is uneven. The Lippert SolidStep addresses all three problems. The steel frame is rigid enough that there is no perceptible flex under load, the aluminum tread steps remain parallel to the ground regardless of leg extension, and the pin-style adjustable feet let you dial in the height on soft, sloped, or uneven pads.
The SolidStep mounts into the existing door hardware on most trailers and includes all mounting screws for both wood and laminate floor applications. Two safety latches -- one on each side -- lock the unit securely in the entryway when deployed. A kickplate prevents the folded unit from contacting and damaging the sidewall or skirt during travel.
Rigid black steel construction eliminates the flex and bounce common in lightweight folding steps. Aluminum treads reduce overall weight while maintaining a solid feel underfoot.
All three steps remain level relative to the ground as leg extensions are adjusted, reducing trip hazards on uneven campsites.

The SolidStep installs into the existing door hardware on compatible trailers. The mounting bracket is 22-1/2" wide x 10-1/2" tall x 6" deep and spans a bracket width range of 27-3/4" to 35-3/4". Mounting screws for both wood and laminate subflooring are included. No additional brackets or adapters are required for standard trailer door openings in the 30-36" range.
A built-in kickplate on the folded step assembly prevents contact between the step frame and the trailer's sidewall or skirt during travel. Two safety latches -- positioned on either side of the step -- lock the SolidStep in the deployed position to prevent accidental folding while in use. The same latches release cleanly for folding and storage.
