Marshall Excelsior350 PSI RatedMade in USAMER613-144 -- 12-Foot Flexible Propane Hose for RV LP Gas Systems

The Marshall Excelsior MER613-144 gives you a full 144 inches (12 feet) of flexible, high-pressure-rated propane hose with 3/8" female flare swivel connections on both ends. Built to UL and CGA standards and manufactured in the USA, this hose is a trusted solution for RV liquid propane gas systems that need reach, flexibility, and reliable performance under pressure.

Reach, Flexibility, and Pressure-Rated Confidence for LP Gas Connections

When your RV propane system needs a longer run -- between a tank and a regulator, between a generator and a supply point, or as part of a multi-tank manifold setup -- the MER613-144 delivers without compromise. At 144 inches, it offers significantly more working length than standard short-run hoses, reducing strain on fittings and allowing tanks or appliances to be positioned where they make sense rather than where the hose forces them.

Both ends feature 3/8" female flare swivel connections with fully crimped brass ferrules, meaning no threading into fixed positions -- the swivel design lets each end rotate freely during installation so you can achieve a leak-free flare seat without twisting the hose body. The thermoplastic construction remains flexible even in cold weather, and the included thermal protection layer adds a critical safety margin in high-heat environments.

350 PSI Working Pressure

Rated for 350 PSI working pressure, well above the operating range of standard RV LP gas systems, which typically run at 11 inches water column (under 1 PSI) at the appliance and up to 250 PSI on the high-pressure tank side.

400 lb Pull Test Rating

Each hose passes a 400-pound pull test, verifying that the crimped brass ferrule connections at both ends can withstand physical stress without separating -- a critical safety assurance for hoses that may experience tension or movement in transit.

UL Listed and CGA Approved

The thermoplastic hose body is independently listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and approved by the Compressed Gas Association (CGA), meeting recognized safety standards for LP gas service in RV and portable applications.

Swivel Fittings on Both Ends

3/8" female flare swivel fittings allow each end to rotate independently during makeup, eliminating hose twist and making it far easier to achieve a proper, leak-free flare seat connection on both sides simultaneously.

Connections and Compatibility

The 3/8" SAE female flare swivel fitting is the standard connection type used across a wide range of RV propane regulators, tanks, pigtails, and high-pressure appliance feeds. This hose connects directly to any male 3/8" SAE flare fitting -- common on two-stage regulators, manifold blocks, portable propane tanks with adapters, and many generator propane feeds.

Swivel Advantage: The female flare swivel design means you can hand-tighten both ends onto their mating male flare fittings and then torque each end without rotating the hose body. This eliminates the hose twist that causes premature wear and makes inspecting the installed hose for damage much easier.

Construction and Materials

The hose body is flexible thermoplastic -- not rubber -- which resists cracking, ozone degradation, and UV exposure better than older rubber-bodied LP hoses. Thermoplastic construction also means the hose stays pliable in temperatures well below freezing, which matters for winter campers and full-timers in cold climates.

Brass ferrules are crimped (not clamped) at the factory, creating a permanent, pressure-tested mechanical bond between the hose body and the fitting. Field-installed clamp connections are a known failure point in LP gas systems; the crimped construction on the MER613-144 eliminates that risk.

Thermal Protection: This hose includes an integrated thermal protection layer designed to add a margin of safety if the hose is routed near heat sources such as engine compartments, generator exhaust areas, or furnace vent zones. It is not a substitute for proper routing away from direct flame.

Typical RV Applications

  • Connecting a remote propane tank to a two-stage regulator with extra length for tank access or repositioning
  • Generator propane supply line where the generator is mounted away from the main tank bay
  • Multi-tank or A/B valve setups requiring longer runs between components
  • Portable LP gas systems where a 12-foot hose allows the tank to remain outside during use
  • Replacement for a worn, kinked, or damaged original-equipment LP hose of similar length and fitting type
Maintenance Tip: Inspect the hose body and both ferrule junctions annually for cracks, abrasion, or signs of deterioration. Apply a soap-and-water solution to all connections after installation and after any reconnection to verify a leak-free seal before use. Replace any hose showing physical damage immediately -- do not attempt to repair a propane hose.

Important Information
  • This hose is intended for LP (liquefied petroleum) gas service only. Do not use with natural gas, compressed air, oxygen, or any service other than propane.
  • Maximum working pressure is 350 PSI. Do not exceed rated pressure under any circumstances.
  • Connections must be made to 3/8" SAE male flare fittings. Do not use pipe thread adapters on the flare seats -- flare-to-pipe adapters are separate fittings and must be rated for LP gas service.
  • Always check all connections with a soap-and-water solution after installation. Never use an open flame to test for leaks.
  • Thermal protection is included but the hose must not be routed in direct contact with exhaust systems, open flames, or surfaces exceeding the hose temperature rating.
  • Inspect annually and replace if the hose body shows cracks, cuts, abrasion, or if either ferrule shows signs of corrosion or loosening.
  • Installation and use must comply with NFPA 58 (Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code) and all applicable local codes and RV manufacturer guidelines.
