Verify that your RV propane regulator is delivering the correct pressure, check appliance inlet pressure, and safety-test transmission lines for leaks -- all with one compact, purpose-built kit. The dual-scale gauge reads both ounces per square inch and inches of water column, giving you the two measurements RV service technicians rely on most.
Low-pressure propane systems in RVs operate in a range that standard gauges simply cannot read accurately. A typical two-stage RV regulator outputs around 11 inches of water column (roughly 6.5 oz), and the only way to confirm that is with a gauge calibrated for that range. The Camco 06-0401 gives you exactly that capability in a kit that fits in a tool drawer.
Whether you are commissioning a new rig, troubleshooting an appliance that won't light, or confirming a regulator is still within spec after a long storage season, this kit covers the job. It also works as a basic leak detector: pressurize a section of line, isolate it, and watch the gauge for pressure drop.
Inner scale reads 0-20 oz (ounces per square inch). Outer scale reads 0-35 inches of water column. Both scales visible at a glance.
5/16" brass hose barb on one end connects to the included rubber tubing. The other end uses a standard 1/8" NPT male thread to attach to appliance test ports or tee fittings.
Pure gum rubber tubing gives you enough reach to connect comfortably to regulators, appliance valves, or manifold test points without straining connections.
The gauge ships and stores mounted inside a durable plastic case that protects the dial face and keeps all components together between uses.
To test your RV regulator: attach the 1/8" NPT end to a tee at the appliance inlet or a dedicated test port, open the propane valve, and read the gauge. NFPA 54 and most RV service standards call for 11" W.C. (+/- 0.5") at the appliance inlet under flow. If your reading is significantly high or low, the regulator needs adjustment or replacement.
The 1/8" NPT fitting is a standard size used on many appliance manifolds and at Schrader-style test ports (with an adapter). If your appliance or regulator does not have an exposed test port, a qualified RV technician can install a tee fitting. Do not use Teflon tape on the gauge fitting if you are using it for a temporary test -- snug hand-tight plus a quarter turn is sufficient for a short-duration reading.
