The Englander CU-VS is the correct combustion vacuum safety switch for 2006 and later Englander pellet stoves. When combustion airflow drops below the safe threshold, this switch shuts the stove down before incomplete combustion or back-puffing can occur. This is a direct OEM-style replacement sold individually -- pair it with one PU-VS switch for a complete two-switch installation on 2006 and newer units.
Englander pellet stoves rely on a matched pair of vacuum switches to monitor combustion draw. Starting with 2006-model-year units, Englander changed the switch configuration: one PU-VS and one CU-VS are required (replacing the older two-PU-VS setup used on pre-2006 machines). If your stove is shutting down unexpectedly, failing to light, or throwing a vacuum-related fault, a failed CU-VS is a common cause.
This switch is also listed under NBK Parts 20092. If you sourced a cross-reference number from a parts house or service manual under that designation, this is the same component.
Designed specifically for the revised switch layout used on Englander pellet stoves built in 2006 and later. Not interchangeable with the older dual-PU-VS setup.
Monitors negative pressure (draft) in the combustion chamber. Shuts the stove down if airflow falls below the 0.05 in. WC threshold, preventing unsafe operation.
At 3 in. x 2-3/8 in. x 2 in. and only 0.2 lbs., the CU-VS installs in the original mounting location without modification.
Fits dozens of Englander freestanding and insert pellet stove models across multiple series -- see the full compatibility list below.
On 2006 and later Englander pellet stoves, the control board monitors two independent vacuum switches during operation:
Both switches must close (confirm adequate draft) for the stove to operate and remain lit. If either switch fails open, the board will shut down the burn cycle. When troubleshooting a nuisance shutdown, test both switches before replacing only one.
The CU-VS (part 20092) is confirmed to fit the following Englander model numbers. Englander freestanding models are listed alongside their matching SHP (Superior Hearth Products) and TRP insert variants where applicable:
If your model number does not appear in this list, verify the switch configuration in your stove's wiring diagram or service manual before ordering. Pre-2006 units of the same model name may use a different switch combination.
