Stop a small rip from becoming a full-panel replacement. Camco's awning repair tape bonds aggressively to most awning fabrics, canvas, vinyl, and coated textiles, sealing punctures and tears with a durable, UV-stabilized film that holds up through sun, rain, and road vibration.
Most awning rips start small -- a branch snag, a stress tear at a grommet, or wind damage along a seam. Left unaddressed, those small tears grow into panel replacements that cost many times more than a roll of repair tape. Camco 42613 is the roll to keep in your toolkit before the problem gets expensive.
The tape uses an adhesive-backed plastic film carrier that resists tearing in any direction. Because the film itself won't propagate a tear, it bridges the damaged area and keeps the repair intact even as the awning flexes during travel. UV inhibitors in the film prevent the adhesive layer from drying out or the film from becoming brittle -- a common failure point with generic hardware-store tapes used outdoors.
Built-in UV inhibitors prevent degradation from sun exposure -- holds up season after season without peeling or cracking.
Adhesive-backed plastic film resists propagation in any direction, keeping the patch intact as the awning flexes.
Bonds firmly to clean, dry awning fabric, vinyl, canvas, sailcloth, and most coated textiles with no priming required.
Works on RV awnings, boat sails, tarps, pool covers, tents, rain gear, backpacks, pop-up camper fabric, and seat covers.
The tape bonds to what it touches first. Clean the repair area with isopropyl alcohol, let it dry completely, and apply when the surface temperature is between 50 and 95 deg F. Cold fabric and damp surfaces are the two most common reasons patches fail early.
This tape was designed with RV awnings as the primary application, but the same UV-resistance and tear strength that make it work on awning vinyl also make it effective on boat sails, tent flies, pool covers, canvas covers, rainwear, and backpack fabric. One roll handles a wide range of camp and marine repair jobs.
Apply only when the surface temperature is between 50 and 95 deg F. Adhesion is significantly reduced on cold or overheated surfaces. Do not apply over wet or frost-covered fabric. If the repair is made at the lower end of the range, allow extra cure time before stressing the patch.
Store the roll in a sealed bag away from direct sunlight and extreme heat when not in use. Heat can soften the adhesive and cause the roll to block (stick to itself), making it difficult to unroll cleanly next time.
