Equal-i-zer Hitch Made in USA Fits 6K-14K Hitch Heads Equal-i-zer 14-2950 -- 2" Receiver Hitch Shank, 3" Drop / 7" Rise, 12" Length

Replace a worn shank or add the shank your Equal-i-zer weight-distribution hitch head is missing. The 14-2950 is built from solid high-grade steel, dipped for corrosion resistance, and sized to give you 3" of drop or 7" of rise depending on how you orient it in a standard 2" receiver tube. Six mounting holes spaced in 1-1/4" increments let you dial in the exact coupling height for a level trailer ride.

The Right Shank Makes or Breaks Your Tow Setup

Equal-i-zer weight-distribution hitch heads in the 6,000 to 14,000 lb. capacity range are sold without a shank, so you can pair them with the shank geometry that actually matches your tow vehicle and trailer combination. The 14-2950 is one of the most versatile shanks in the Equal-i-zer lineup: flip it for drop or rise, slide it through virtually any 2" receiver, and bolt on your hitch head using the six pre-drilled mounting holes.

This shank is also a straightforward upgrade path when you change tow vehicles. Rather than buying a whole new hitch system, swap the shank to match the new receiver height and keep your proven Equal-i-zer head in service.

Solid Steel Construction

Machined from solid high-grade steel billet -- not welded tube -- for consistent strength across the full shank body.

Drop and Rise in One Shank

Provides 3" of drop or 7" of rise depending on orientation in the receiver, eliminating the need for two separate shanks.

Six Mounting Holes

Holes are centered and spaced at 1-1/4" increments, giving you multiple head-position options for precise ball height tuning.

Corrosion-Resistant Dip Finish

Full-body dip coating seals the steel against road moisture, salt spray, and seasonal weather typical in RV towing conditions.

Fitment and Compatibility

The 14-2950 is designed specifically for Equal-i-zer sway control hitch heads that ship without a shank -- primarily the 6,000, 8,000, 10,000, 12,000, and 14,000 lb. rated heads in the Equal-i-zer four-point sway control family. It inserts into any standard 2" receiver tube and accepts hitch head mounting hardware through the six bolt holes along the shank body.

The shank is also compatible with many other brands of adjustable hitch heads that use a comparable mounting-hole pattern. If you are running a different brand of weight-distribution head on a shankless design, confirm that your head's mounting hole spacing matches the 1-1/4" increment pattern before ordering.

Measurement Reference: All drop and rise figures are measured from the inside top of the receiver tube opening down (or up) to the centerline of the hitch ball mounting surface. Use this reference when comparing to your current setup.

When to Order This Shank

  • Your Equal-i-zer hitch head was purchased without a shank and needs one to complete the installation.
  • You switched to a new tow vehicle with a different receiver height and need a shank with a different drop or rise to keep the trailer level.
  • Your existing shank shows corrosion, bending, or wear and needs replacement.
  • You want to run the same Equal-i-zer hitch head across two different tow vehicles with different receiver heights.
Orientation Tip: Install the shank with the offset pointing down for 3" of drop (receiver sits higher than the ball mount). Flip it upside down for 7" of rise (receiver sits lower than the ball mount). Always re-torque the receiver hitch pin hardware after any shank re-orientation.

Made in the USA

Equal-i-zer hitch products, including this shank, are manufactured in the United States. The brand is known in the RV towing community for its integrated four-point sway and weight-distribution design, and replacement components like this shank carry the same build quality as the original hitch systems.

Maintenance Tip: Inspect the shank, hitch pin bore, and mounting holes each season for surface rust, scoring, or elongation. Apply a light coat of corrosion-inhibiting grease to the receiver insert portion before each towing season to prevent galling and simplify removal.

Important Information
  • This shank is a replacement/accessory component only -- it does NOT include a hitch head, hitch ball, receiver pin, or any hardware beyond the shank itself.
  • Always verify that your tow vehicle receiver is rated for the gross trailer weight you intend to tow. The shank's compatibility with the receiver does not override the receiver's own weight rating.
  • The drop and rise measurements (3" drop / 7" rise) are taken from the inside top of the receiver tube to the base of the hitch ball mounting surface -- not from the ground or from the receiver tube exterior.
  • Never use a bent, cracked, or corroded shank. Replace immediately if any deformation is found during inspection.
  • Confirm your hitch head's mounting hole spacing matches the 1-1/4" increment pattern on this shank before purchase if using with a non-Equal-i-zer hitch head.
  • Always secure the shank in the receiver with a properly rated hitch pin and clip or locking pin before towing.
