If your Equal-i-zer sway control hitch head did not come with a shank, or if your tow vehicle requires a different drop than your original shank provides, this is the direct-fit replacement. The 14-2931 shank is forged from solid, heavy-duty steel with a dipped painted corrosion-resistant finish -- purpose-built for the demands of full-time towing, mountain grades, and loaded trailers up to 14,000 lbs. gross trailer weight.
Not every Equal-i-zer hitch purchase includes a shank, and not every tow vehicle needs the same drop. The 14-2931 fills that gap with a purpose-built, USA-made shank that mates directly with Equal-i-zer 6,000 lb. through 14,000 lb. rated sway control hitch heads. With a 6 in. drop, 10 in. rise, and 12 in. shank length, it accommodates tow vehicles where the receiver sits higher than the trailer coupler -- a common setup with full-size trucks and elevated hitches.
Six mounting holes spaced 1-1/4 in. apart give you precise head-height adjustment to dial in a level tow. At 24 lbs., the shank is substantial without being unwieldy for solo hitching. The dipped painted finish resists road salt and moisture for season after season of reliable service.
Heavy-duty solid steel shank with a dipped painted, corrosion-resistant finish stands up to road salt, moisture, and the stress of loaded towing.
Six mounting holes spaced 1-1/4 in. apart let you fine-tune hitch head height for a level trailer every time.
Rated for up to 14,000 lbs. gross trailer weight and 1,400 lbs. tongue weight -- suitable for large fifth-wheel-adjacent travel trailers and heavy toy haulers.
Manufactured domestically by Equal-i-zer Hitch, with a limited 90-day manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.
This shank is designed specifically for Equal-i-zer brand sway control / weight distribution hitch heads rated from 6,000 lb. to 14,000 lb. It inserts into a standard 2 in. square receiver on the tow vehicle. It is not a universal shank and is not designed for non-Equal-i-zer hitch heads or ball mounts.
Getting the correct drop is critical for weight distribution to work properly. Measure the distance from the ground to the top of your receiver opening (receiver height). Then measure from the ground to the bottom of your trailer coupler (coupler height). The difference determines whether you need a drop, a rise, or a level shank.
