The primary cap uses a strong neodymium magnet to attach to the bumper opening. Vent holes in the cap face allow airflow while a built-in fine-mesh insect screen keeps flies, wasps, spiders, and debris from moving in alongside your hose. The Camco 40310 is designed for standard 4-inch square metal bumpers common on travel trailers, fifth wheels, and many pop-up campers. The magnetic cap relies on a ferrous (steel or iron) bumper surface for attachment -- it will not magnetically adhere to aluminum bumpers. On aluminum-bumper rigs, the backup non-magnetic cap can still be used as a friction-fit plug.
The neodymium magnet requires a steel or iron bumper to function. If your rig has an aluminum bumper, the magnetic cap will not hold. Use the included non-magnetic cap instead, or verify your bumper material before ordering.
The magnetic cap is compatible with Camco bayonet-style sewer hose fittings, so the cap can seat over the hose end for a clean, sealed storage setup. This keeps the hose fitting end protected from road grime between uses.
Rinse and dry your sewer hose before storing it in the bumper. A clean, dry hose stored with the vented cap in place will resist odor and mildew far better than one sealed without airflow. Check the insect screen seasonally and clear any debris that has accumulated at the vent holes.

This cap set is sized for 4-inch square bumper openings. Non-standard bumper sizes, round openings, or heavily modified bumpers may not provide a proper fit. Measure your bumper opening before ordering if you are unsure of the specification.
