If your patio awning fabric is faded, torn, or brittle, a fresh replacement can transform the look of your rig and restore full shade coverage. Carefree of Colorado's JU186A00 is a one-piece vinyl canopy that integrates the valance and main body into a single seamless unit -- no patching, no mismatched panels. It mounts to the roller tube with two polyrods, matches original Carefree hardware, and is built to handle seasons of sun, wind, and road vibration.
This replacement fabric is engineered specifically for Carefree patio awning systems but also crosses over to most A&E, Carter, Dometic, Faulkner, and Norseman awning arms -- making it one of the most widely compatible options on the market. The heavy-duty 13.5 oz vinyl construction resists UV degradation, moisture, and surface abrasion better than lighter fabrics.
The Weatherguard -- the protective wrap that covers the rolled-up fabric -- is included in White and guards against sun damage, scrapes, and road debris when the awning is stowed. Installation follows standard Carefree procedure: slide the polyrods into the two dedicated slots in the roller tube, tension the fabric, and secure the spline. A spline tool and printed installation instructions are included in the box.
Valance and main canopy are combined into a single uniform panel for a cleaner, more tailored appearance when fully extended.
Heavy commercial-weight vinyl resists UV fading, mildew, and surface wear -- significantly more durable than standard-weight awning fabrics.
Protective wrap shields the rolled fabric from sun exposure, scrapes, and road grime while traveling between campsites.
Fabric secures to the roll bar using two polyrods seated in two dedicated slots -- a proven, rattle-free mounting system.
Awning fabric is intentionally cut shorter than the labeled awning width. This is normal and by design -- the fabric does not run edge-to-edge of the roller tube.
How to measure: Measure the width of your awning from the center of the right arm to the center of the left arm. If that measurement is 18 ft, this fabric is the correct size. The actual fabric panel will measure approximately 17 ft 2 in -- roughly 5 inches short on each side (10 inches total). This is standard for all Carefree fabric sizes and ensures proper tension and clearance at the arms.
This fabric uses a standard polyrod cord size and is compatible with a wide range of OEM patio awning frames:
If you are unsure whether your current awning uses standard polyrod attachment, check the roller tube for two parallel longitudinal slots. If present, this fabric will work with your system.
Replacing awning fabric is a two-person job on most rigs. The general process for Carefree systems:
Printed installation instructions are included. A flat, clean surface and basic hand tools are all that is required beyond the included spline tool.
What's in the Box: (1) Awning fabric with integrated Weatherguard -- 18 ft size / Burgundy Shale Fade / White Weatherguard, (1) Spline tool, (1) Printed installation instructions.
Maintenance Tip: Clean vinyl awning fabric with mild soap and water. Avoid petroleum-based solvents or stiff bristle brushes that can crack or scuff the vinyl surface. Always allow the fabric to dry fully before rolling it up to prevent mildew between uses.
Shipping Note: Due to its size and packaging, this awning fabric ships via ground service only. Expedited or priority shipping is not available for this item.
