The Suburban Mfg 5280A (model IW60RL) is a tankless, on-demand LP gas water heater that heats water as it flows through the unit rather than storing and reheating a large tank. A built-in recirculation loop with a small 0.5-gallon internal tank helps deliver hot water faster at the tap, and a 2-stage modulating combustion system self-adjusts between 15,000 and 60,000 BTU/h to maintain a precise, consistent water temperature between 95-130°F. It's powered entirely by LP gas with direct spark ignition and 12V DC for ignition and controls - there is no electric heating element on this model.
This is a tankless on-demand water heater, not a traditional 6-gallon tank model, and it runs on LP gas only - there is no electric heating element. It's designed to drop into the same exterior cutout as a Suburban SW6DE or SW10DE with minor trim adjustments.
The exterior access door/frame and vent cap are not included and must be purchased separately for a complete installation. This model is also sold under part number IW60RL - both refer to the same physical unit.
