The SSF-170-40-2 uses the Rebel 2-piece design - each spring attaches at both the top jounce bumper location and the bottom, unlike the single-piece Solo design that only attaches at the bottom. This top-and-bottom connection allows unlimited suspension travel in both compression and extension while keeping the spring positioned correctly throughout the full range of axle movement.
