Lippert's Electric Embedded Rack (sometimes called the Venture Embedded Rack) routes a toothed rack gear along the underside of the slide-out room. The motor drives a pinion gear that engages this rack to extend and retract the room. Because the mechanism is embedded in the floor structure, it handles heavier slide-out rooms than surface-mounted systems and is common on larger fifth wheels and Class A coaches built between the mid-2000s and present.
This design is distinct from the Lippert Schwintek (which uses worm gears at the top and bottom rails) and from through-frame cable systems. Replacement is a mechanical and electrical swap performed with basic hand tools.
