Ancor Marine Grade Heat Shrink Sealed Universal Speaker Fit Ancor SPK2218 Heat Shrink Speaker Connector Kit -- Red, 6-Pack (01-2405)

Get a permanently sealed, corrosion-resistant connection to any marine or RV speaker terminal. The Ancor SPK2218 kit includes all three standard female spade tab sizes in one package -- no hunting for individual connectors when you're mid-install. Each connector uses adhesive-lined dual-wall heat shrink tubing that bonds and waterproofs the connection as it shrinks, protecting against the salt air, vibration, and moisture that destroy ordinary crimp terminals.

The Right Connector for Every Speaker Terminal

Marine and RV speakers use one of three standard female spade tab widths at their input terminals. This kit gives you two of each -- 0.250 inch (1/4"), 0.188 inch (3/16"), and 0.110 inch (approximately 1/8") -- so you're covered regardless of the speaker brand or model you're wiring. All six connectors are color-coded red, indicating compatibility with 18-22 AWG wire, which is the standard gauge range for speaker runs in marine and RV installations.

Ancor manufactures these to ABYC and UL standards for marine wiring. The adhesive-lined heat shrink sleeve isn't just insulation -- it melts inward and bonds to the wire jacket, creating a moisture barrier that keeps the crimp from oxidizing even in saltwater environments. For boaters and full-time RVers in humid or coastal climates, this is a meaningful upgrade over uninsulated or standard PVC-insulated disconnects.

3 Tab Sizes Included

Two each of 0.250", 0.188", and 0.110" female spade tabs -- covers virtually all marine speaker terminal widths in one kit.

Adhesive-Lined Heat Shrink

Dual-wall tubing with internal adhesive bonds to wire jacket on heat application, forming a watertight seal around the crimp.

18-22 AWG Wire Range

Red color code confirms compatibility with 18 to 22 AWG wire -- the standard gauge for speaker runs in RV and marine audio systems.

Marine and RV Ready

Tinned copper contacts and sealed insulation resist corrosion from salt spray, humidity, and the vibration common to marine and towable RV environments.

What Is Included in the Kit

  • (2) Female adhesive-lined heat shrink disconnects -- 0.250" (1/4") tab width
  • (2) Female adhesive-lined heat shrink disconnects -- 0.188" (3/16") tab width
  • (2) Female adhesive-lined heat shrink disconnects -- 0.110" tab width
  • Total: 6 connectors per pack
Universal Speaker Compatibility

These three tab sizes cover the terminal widths used by virtually all major marine speaker brands -- Fusion, JL Audio, Polk Audio MM, Kicker, and others. No need to know the exact tab size before you buy; the kit has you covered.

How to Install

Strip approximately 1/4" to 3/8" of insulation from the speaker wire end. Insert the bare conductor fully into the metal barrel of the connector. Crimp firmly using a ratcheting wire crimp tool designed for insulated terminals. Then apply heat evenly along the heat shrink sleeve using a heat gun (a lighter works but risks uneven shrink). The adhesive will flow out slightly at both ends of the sleeve when the seal is complete. Allow to cool before connecting to the speaker terminal.

Tool Recommendation

For best results, use a dedicated ratcheting crimp tool sized for insulated terminals (22-18 AWG range). A generic multi-tool crimp can work but may not achieve the full compression needed for a reliable electrical connection. Ancor and other marine wire brands sell compatible crimpers separately.

Why Ancor for Marine Wiring

Ancor is one of the most widely specified marine electrical brands in the industry and is stocked on ABYC-certified vessels worldwide. Their heat shrink connectors use tinned copper contacts rather than bare copper, which dramatically slows the oxidation process in humid and salt environments. The adhesive liner is a meaningful design detail -- many "heat shrink" connectors on the market use single-wall tubing with no adhesive, which insulates but does not seal. Ancor's dual-wall construction is the correct choice for any connection that will see moisture.

Maintenance Tip

Even with sealed connectors, inspect speaker wiring connections annually if the vessel or RV is stored outdoors or used in coastal conditions. Pull gently on each connector to verify the crimp has not loosened. Sealed connections resist corrosion but a poor initial crimp can still fail over time with vibration.

Important Information
  • These are female spade (disconnect) connectors only -- they do not include male terminals or ring/butt connectors. For a full speaker wiring kit, additional connector types may be needed.
  • Rated for 18-22 AWG wire only. Using outside this gauge range will result in a poor crimp and possible connection failure.
  • Heat shrink seal requires a heat gun or similar heat source to activate. Do not attempt to use connectors without applying heat -- the adhesive seal will not activate and the connection will not be waterproof.
  • Six connectors are included. For multi-speaker installs requiring more than 3 speaker connections, additional packs will be needed.
  • Designed for low-voltage DC audio signal wiring. Not rated for AC power or high-current DC applications.
