Sulfation is the number one killer of lead-acid batteries -- and most golf cart owners never know it is happening. The BatteryMINDer OBD-36V mounts permanently on your golf cart and works automatically every time you plug in to charge, sending high-frequency pulses through the full 36V bank to break down sulfate crystals and restore lost capacity. No separate power source, no manual switches, no guesswork.
The OBD-36V is not a charger -- it is a desulfator and conditioner that piggybacks on your existing golf cart charger. When you plug your cart in at the end of the day, the OBD-36V activates automatically and applies high-frequency pulse desulfation to your entire 36-volt battery bank. When charging is done, the unit goes dormant and draws zero power during vehicle operation.
Sulfate buildup reduces capacity, increases charge time, and shortens battery life. By desulfating regularly during every charge cycle, the OBD-36V helps restore usable amp-hours, lowers internal resistance, and reduces the strain placed on your charger and charging components over time.
Activates the moment you plug in your golf cart charger. No switches to flip, no timers to set. Shuts off automatically when charging ends.
Compatible with flooded maintenance-free, gel, AGM, sealed, and deep-cycle lead-acid batteries. Works on any brand.
Dust-tight and splash-resistant from any direction. Designed to survive the underhood environment of a golf cart year-round.
Onboard LED indicator lets you monitor battery condition status at a glance during the charge cycle.
The OBD-36V does not use any power from your battery bank while the cart is in use. Desulfation only occurs when the golf cart charger is connected, so you never sacrifice range or run time.
The OBD-36V is wired directly to the main positive and negative terminals of your 36-volt battery bank. It is compatible with the two most common 36V golf cart configurations:
Connection is straightforward: the red lead attaches to the same post as the main positive cable on the battery bank, and the black lead attaches to the same post as the main negative cable. No cutting into existing wiring is required.
This unit is designed for 36-volt golf cart systems only. For 48-volt systems, BatteryMINDer offers a separate model. Confirm your cart's total system voltage before ordering.
Installation is designed to be completed without special tools. The back of the unit includes a pre-applied hook-and-loop (Velcro) fastener for quick attachment to a battery or nearby surface. Integrated mounting tabs are also provided if you prefer a more permanent hardware-mounted installation using user-supplied screws or bolts.
Inspect the ATC blade fuse annually or any time the unit does not activate. Replacement 3-amp ATC fuses are available at any auto parts store. Keep the wire leads secured away from moving parts and heat sources after installation.
Regular desulfation during every charge cycle provides compounding benefits over the life of your battery bank. Owners typically report improved capacity retention, shorter charge times as internal resistance drops, and extended overall battery service life. Extending the life of your battery bank by even one replacement cycle represents significant savings in maintenance costs.
If your golf cart batteries are severely sulfated or deeply discharged, a dedicated BatteryMINDer battery charger-conditioner may help recover them before switching to the OBD-36V for ongoing maintenance desulfation.
