Keep your RV, tow vehicle, or stored vehicle battery fully charged and sulfation-free without ever touching a battery terminal or opening the hood. The BatteryMINDer 1510-OBD2 plugs directly into your vehicle's standard OBD2 diagnostic port -- typically located under the dashboard above the brake pedal -- and delivers continuous 12V maintenance charging with full-time high-frequency desulfation. Set it, leave it, and come back to a healthy battery weeks or months later.
The 1510-OBD2 is designed for RV owners, tow vehicle operators, and anyone who parks a vehicle for extended periods. Instead of crawling to the battery or running cables under the hood, you simply plug the included OBD2 connector into the dash port found on virtually every 1996-and-newer vehicle. The charger then works automatically -- charging first, then switching to maintenance mode -- and never overcharges.
A built-in ambient temperature sensor adjusts charge voltage to compensate for heat and cold, protecting batteries in storage conditions ranging from -4F to 122F. The compact, wall- or vehicle-mountable case fits in tight spaces and can be permanently mounted using the included mounting tab.
Plugs into your vehicle's standard OBD2 diagnostic connector under the dash -- no terminal access, no hood required. Includes both OBD2 plug and SAE quick-connect clip cord.
Automatic high-frequency pulse desulfation (not high voltage) runs continuously to break down sulfate buildup. Extends new battery life up to 4x and recovers performance in older batteries.
Maintains up to 4 batteries simultaneously when used with BatteryMINDer Y-Connectors (part 210AY, sold separately). Ideal for rigs with house bank and chassis battery.
Installed ambient temperature sensor adjusts output automatically across -4F to 122F operating range, preventing overcharge in summer heat and undercharge in winter storage.
Traditional maintainers require direct battery terminal access, which means reaching past engine components or crawling under a tow vehicle. The 1510-OBD2 routes power through the OBD2 port, which is wired directly to your vehicle's 12V battery circuit. The charger's microprocessor monitors battery voltage and current continuously, progressing through bulk charge, absorption, and float/maintenance stages without user input.
When battery voltage drops below the maintenance threshold, the unit resumes charging automatically. When the battery is full, output drops to a safe float level. This cycle repeats indefinitely with no risk of overcharge or gassing -- critical for sealed and maintenance-free batteries stored in enclosed battery compartments.
The 1510-OBD2 is compatible with the two most common battery types found in RVs and tow vehicles:
Note: This unit is calibrated for lead-acid chemistry (flooded, AGM, gel). It is not designed for lithium (LiFePO4) battery banks.
The 1510-OBD2 includes a 12-foot AC power cord, giving you enough reach from a standard outlet to most parking configurations. The OBD2 connector plug reaches the dash port, and a 2-foot battery clip cord set with quick connector is included as an alternate connection method when OBD2 access is inconvenient. An optional permanent mounting tab lets you secure the compact 3.34 x 2.56 x 1.18 inch case to a wall, garage shelf, or vehicle interior surface.
Lead-acid batteries naturally accumulate lead sulfate crystals on their plates during normal use and especially during storage at partial charge. This sulfation reduces capacity, increases internal resistance, and shortens battery life. Most chargers ignore sulfation entirely.
BatteryMINDer's patented high-frequency pulse technology sends low-energy pulses through the battery continuously, breaking down existing sulfate crystals and preventing new deposits from hardening. Independent testing and BatteryMINDer's own data suggest this process can extend new battery service life up to 4x compared to uncharged storage, and can recover measurable capacity from sulfated batteries that other chargers write off as dead.
