Camco Type 1 ACME Connector 200,000 BTU/hr Rated Camco 59193 60-Inch RV Type 1 Pigtail Propane Hose Connector

A reliable, code-compliant connection between your portable propane cylinder and your RV or trailer regulator. The Camco 59193 pigtail hose ships ready to install with a Type 1 ACME nut on the cylinder end and a 1/4-inch inverted male flare on the regulator end -- two industry-standard fittings that eliminate the need for adapters on most North American RV setups.

Propane Flow, Safety, and Confidence in One 60-Inch Hose

At 60 inches (5 feet) of working length, this pigtail gives you enough slack to position your propane cylinders without stressing the regulator connection -- a common cause of micro-leaks at the fitting. The flexible hose construction routes cleanly in tight compartments and tongue boxes while keeping both ends under low mechanical stress.

Camco engineers two independent safety mechanisms into this hose. A thermal shutoff activates in a fire event, stopping gas flow before the hose can contribute to flame spread. An excess-flow valve detects the sudden pressure drop that follows a broken or severely kinked line and closes automatically, limiting uncontrolled gas release. Neither device requires user intervention -- they reset when the cause is corrected and the system is properly purged and restored.

Type 1 ACME Nut

Industry-standard left-hand ACME thread fits all standard POL-to-Type-1 (QCC1) cylinders common on travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class A/C motorhomes.

200,000 BTU/hr Rating

Handles the combined demand of a typical dual-burner furnace, water heater, range, and refrigerator without restricting flow to your regulator.

Thermal Protection

Internal thermal shutoff closes the hose in a fire event, helping prevent an already-dangerous situation from escalating through uncontrolled gas flow.

Excess-Flow Valve

Automatically closes if downstream pressure drops sharply -- such as from a broken line -- and reopens once conditions normalize and pressure is restored safely.

Fitment and Thread Compatibility

This hose uses the two most common propane fittings in North American RV applications:

  • Cylinder end: Type 1 ACME nut (QCC1) -- the standard hand-tight, left-hand thread fitting found on most 20 lb, 30 lb, and 40 lb DOT cylinders manufactured after 1998.
  • Regulator end: 1/4-inch inverted male flare -- the standard inlet fitting on single-stage and two-stage RV regulators from manufacturers such as Camco, Fairview, Marshall Excelsior, and Cavagna.

No additional adapters are required for the vast majority of RV and trailer installations. If your existing regulator uses a POL fitting instead of an inverted flare, a separate POL adapter (not included) is needed.

Direct Replacement Use Case: This hose is the correct replacement for aging or cracked pigtails on travel trailers and fifth wheels that run a dual-cylinder setup with a manual or automatic changeover regulator. Replace both pigtails at the same time if one shows any signs of cracking, abrasion, or stiffness.

Installation Tips

Proper installation takes only a few minutes and requires no special tools beyond a wrench for the flare fitting end.

  • Hand-tighten the Type 1 ACME nut onto the cylinder valve -- do not use a wrench on the ACME nut; it seals hand-tight by design.
  • Use a wrench (typically 5/8-inch) to tighten the 1/4-inch inverted flare fitting at the regulator inlet. Snug is sufficient -- overtightening flare fittings can crack the seat.
  • After connecting, perform a soap-bubble leak test at both ends before lighting any appliances.
  • Route the hose away from sharp edges, exhaust outlets, and any surface that experiences heat above 125 deg F.
  • Do not kink the hose or use it under vehicle-body panels where it cannot be visually inspected.
Maintenance Reminder: Inspect your propane pigtail hose at the start of every camping season and after any period of storage. Look for surface cracking, abrasion through the outer jacket, corrosion at the fittings, or any sign of kinking. Replace the hose at the first sign of damage -- propane hoses are not field-repairable.

When to Replace Your Propane Pigtail

The NFPA 58 Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code recommends replacing flexible propane hoses and connectors every 5 to 10 years regardless of visible condition. Camco includes a limited 90-day warranty on this hose against manufacturing defects. Regardless of warranty status, replace immediately if you observe:

  • Outer jacket cracking, brittleness, or abrasion exposing the braid beneath
  • Fitting corrosion or thread damage that prevents a gas-tight seal
  • Any odor of propane at the hose or fittings
  • Hose that was exposed to direct flame or extreme heat
Dual-Cylinder Setups: On RVs with a two-cylinder manifold and an automatic or manual changeover regulator, two pigtail hoses are used -- one per cylinder. This listing is for a single hose. Order two if you are replacing both sides of a dual-cylinder installation.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing
  • This hose is for outdoor and RV propane systems only. It is not rated for natural gas and must not be used with natural gas appliances or supply lines.
  • Do not exceed the 200,000 BTU/hr flow rating. Overloading the hose connection can trigger the excess-flow valve or cause fitting stress.
  • The Type 1 ACME nut tightens by hand only -- never use a pipe wrench or pliers on the ACME nut. The 1/4-inch flare fitting at the regulator end requires a wrench for a gas-tight seal.
  • Always perform a soap-and-water bubble test at all connections after installation and before use. Never test with an open flame.
  • Route the hose away from heat sources, exhaust outlets, and moving or sharp-edged components. Do not allow the hose to rest on the trailer tongue or frame where road debris can abrade the jacket.
  • Propane hoses are not repairable. If any leak, crack, or damage is found, replace the hose immediately -- do not attempt to patch or tape.
  • This product carries a limited 90-day manufacturer warranty against defects. Follow all applicable propane safety codes (NFPA 58) for your jurisdiction.
  • This listing covers a single hose. For dual-cylinder RV installations, two hoses are required.
