Give your rig a fresh look without replacing the entire awning assembly. The Carefree of Colorado JU196B00 is a direct-fit 13.5 oz vinyl replacement fabric sized for 19 ft awning arms, finished in the Camel Shale Fade color pattern with a White Weatherguard hem that shields the rolled fabric from UV exposure, scrapes, and road grime between trips.
Awning fabric takes the brunt of sun, wind, and weather season after season. When yours starts cracking, fading, or tearing at the hem, replacing just the fabric is a straightforward job that restores both function and curb appeal. Carefree's JU196B00 is engineered to install on the existing roller tube and arms using the same polyrod-in-slot retention system found on most North American RV awnings from the 1990s through current production.
The one-piece design integrates the valance and the main canopy into a single continuous panel -- no seam between the drop and the shade surface -- so the awning looks clean and uniform when fully extended. The Camel Shale Fade colorway uses smaller-scale patterning that reads well against a wide range of RV sidewall colors and exterior graphics packages.
Integrated single-panel construction eliminates the seam between the drop valance and shade canopy for a clean, factory appearance when deployed.
The white vinyl Weatherguard hem wraps the outer edge of the rolled fabric, blocking UV rays, road debris, and moisture when the awning is stored in travel position.
Heavier than standard-grade fabrics, 13.5 oz vinyl resists mildew, UV degradation, and wind stress while remaining flexible in cold weather conditions.
Two polyrods secure the fabric in two separate slots in the roller tube, providing a secure, rattle-free attachment that holds under highway vibration and gusty conditions.
Awning fabric is intentionally cut shorter than the labeled awning size. This fabric measures 18 ft 2 in in length and is designed for awnings with arms spaced approximately 19 ft apart (measured center-of-arm to center-of-arm).
How to measure your awning: Measure the width from the center of the right arm to the center of the left arm. That arm-to-arm measurement is your awning size. This fabric will sit approximately 5 inches short of each arm end -- 10 inches total -- which is correct and by design. The fabric is NOT meant to span the full arm-to-arm distance edge to edge.
This fabric uses a standard polyrod retention system and standard poly cord sizing, making it broadly compatible with roller-tube awning systems across multiple brands:
Tip: If you are unsure whether your awning uses a standard polyrod slot system, look at the end cap of your roller tube. If you can see two parallel grooves or slots on the tube where the existing fabric is inserted, this fabric will work with your setup.
Replacing awning fabric is a manageable DIY project for one or two people with basic hand tools. The kit includes everything needed to complete the swap:
