Correct bracket placement is critical for the 4-point geometry to work as designed. The sway control brackets must be positioned on the trailer frame 27 to 32 inches back from the center of the coupler. Measure carefully during installation. Trailers with non-standard A-frame geometries or very short tongues may fall outside this window -- verify before purchasing.
This hitch head mounts into a 2-inch x 2-inch receiver via the separately purchased shank. The receiver must be rated to handle the full tongue weight and gross towing weight of your application -- do not install on a receiver rated below 1,000 lb tongue weight or 10,000 lb GTW. The tow vehicle's hitch receiver, frame, and trailer hitch ratings all apply and must be verified independently.
