At 10" drop and a 20,000 lb GTW rating, this is the mount for significantly lifted HD trucks towing the heaviest bumper-pull trailers, where both maximum strength and maximum correction are required simultaneously.
The solid forged steel shank — not hollow, not welded — is what separates the SSBM HD from every other ball mount at this capacity level. That solid construction delivers the bending resistance to handle 20,000 lb loads with confidence, even when the mount is extended 10" below the receiver. The glossy powder-coat finish provides rust resistance in the harshest outdoor environments, and both 2" and 2-5/16" chrome-plated balls are included. Note that the 49-00-5925 is non-symmetrical: it offers a 10" drop but only a 9" rise when flipped — confirm your measurement before ordering.

The Flash SSBM HD 49-00-5925 is a ball mount — it does not provide weight distribution or sway control. At 20,000 lb GTW, tongue weight will be substantial — a weight distribution hitch is the appropriate solution when tongue weight causes rear sag or sway concerns. Fastway offers the e2™ Weight Distribution Hitch series for these applications. Also note — non-symmetrical drop/rise: The 49-00-5925 has a 10" drop but only a 9" rise when flipped. Unlike the standard 2" SSBM (49-00-5900) which is fully symmetrical, this HD model differs by 1" between orientations. Confirm which orientation and which measurement is correct for your setup before ordering.
A 10" drop is a significant correction — most commonly needed for significantly lifted HD trucks. Confirm your measurement carefully. Step 1: Measure your tow vehicle's receiver opening height from the ground — on level ground with the vehicle loaded as it will be while towing. Step 2: Measure your trailer's coupler height from the ground — with the trailer loaded as it will be while towing. Step 3: Subtract the coupler height from the receiver height to get the required drop (positive result), or subtract the receiver height from the coupler height to get the required rise (positive result). Example (drop): Receiver at 29" — Coupler at 19" = 10" drop → 49-00-5925 correct as a drop mount. Example (rise): Coupler at 28" — Receiver at 19" = 9" rise → 49-00-5925 correct when flipped to rise orientation. If you need more than 9" of rise, this mount cannot provide it — no larger rise is available in the SSBM HD family.
Installation Steps: 1. Confirm Orientation and Measurement: Verify whether you need 10" drop or 9" rise — these differ by 1" on this model 2. Select Ball: Choose the 2" or 2-5/16" ball that matches your trailer's coupler size 3. Insert into Receiver: Slide the solid steel shank into your 2-1/2" hitch receiver in the correct orientation 4. Connect Trailer: Lower your trailer coupler onto the hitch ball and secure the coupler latch 6. Verify Level: Confirm the trailer is riding level before towing Never exceed the rated GTW or tongue weight for the ball mount, hitch ball, receiver hitch, or tow vehicle. For heavy trailers, verify whether a weight distribution hitch is required.
