Most aluminum ball mounts are either cheap and unreliable or heavy and awkward — the Fastway Flash Simple Ball Mount takes a different approach. Precision-machined in the Mountain West from solid aircraft-grade aluminum and polished to a mirror finish, the Flash Simple is built to be significantly stronger and longer-lasting than other aluminum ball mounts on the market, while coming in at roughly half the weight of comparable steel alternatives.
The 42-99-2600 is the 6" drop / 7" rise version, suited for light-duty trucks and mid-height trailers where a moderate drop is needed to get the coupler and ball to the same level. The single-pin adjustment system lets you set ball height in seconds without tools — pull the pin, slide the ball platform to your preferred height, and lock it back in. No wrenches, no fighting with heavy steel hardware. Two chrome-plated hitch balls (2" and 2-5/16") are included and reversible, making trailer switchovers fast without needing to change balls. The 6", 8", and 10" models are also stowable under most trucks, keeping your truck bed and storage area clean between uses.

The Flash Simple 42-99-2600 is a ball mount — it connects your tow vehicle to your trailer and holds the hitch ball securely. It does not provide weight distribution or trailer sway control. A ball mount carries the full tongue weight directly onto the tow vehicle's rear suspension. For trailers where tongue weight causes the rear of the vehicle to sag significantly, or where sway is a concern, a weight distribution hitch is the appropriate solution. Fastway offers the e2™ Weight Distribution Hitch series in round bar and trunnion styles for these applications. Consult your tow vehicle's owner's manual for its tongue weight capacity and determine whether a weight distribution hitch is required for your setup before towing.
Selecting the correct drop size ensures your trailer tows level — a trailer that isn't level puts uneven stress on the hitch and affects handling. Step 1: Measure the height of your tow vehicle's receiver opening from the ground (measured with the vehicle on a level surface and loaded as it would be during towing). Step 2: Measure the height of your trailer's coupler from the ground (again, with the trailer loaded as it would be during towing). Step 3: Subtract the coupler height from the receiver height. The result is the drop you need. Example: Receiver at 19" — Coupler at 13" = 6" drop → 42-99-2600 is the correct choice. The 42-99-2600 also offers a 7" rise when flipped upside down — useful if your coupler is higher than your receiver.
Installation Steps: 1. Confirm Drop Size: Measure receiver height and coupler height to confirm 6" drop (or 7" rise) is correct for your vehicle-trailer combination 2. Select Ball: Choose the 2" or 2-5/16" ball side of the reversible ball platform based on your trailer's coupler size 3. Set Height: Pull the stainless steel pin, slide the ball platform to your desired height position, and re-insert the pin to lock 4. Insert into Receiver: Slide the shank into your 2" hitch receiver and secure with a hitch pin and clip (hitch pin sold separately — Fastway Dual Lock Pack recommended) 5. Connect Trailer: Lower your trailer coupler onto the hitch ball and secure the coupler latch 6. Verify Level: Confirm trailer is riding level before loading and towing Never exceed the specified GTW or tongue weight ratings for the ball mount, hitch ball, receiver hitch, or tow vehicle.
