Stop guessing when to stop filling. The Pro-Fill system replaces every cell vent cap with an automatic shut-off valve, interconnects all cells with tubing, and lets you water an entire 6V battery bank with a single hose connection in under a minute -- no funnels, no overfills, no acid spills.
Deep-cycle 6V batteries -- whether in an RV house bank, a golf cart, or a solar storage system -- require regular watering to stay healthy. Doing it cell by cell with a turkey baster or squeeze bottle is slow, messy, and easy to get wrong. Overfill a cell and you lose electrolyte and corrode terminals; underfill it and you sulfate plates.
The Flow-Rite BG-U72-1A Pro-Fill Universal system eliminates all of that. Automatic shut-off valves sense when each cell reaches the correct water level and close -- regardless of what the other cells are doing. Water flows through the interconnect tubing until every cell is full, then flow stops. Connect a garden hose or the optional Flow-Rite hand pump to the single fill port, squeeze, and walk away.
Each valve closes independently when the cell reaches proper level -- no overfilling, no spills.
Kit is sized for 12 standard 6V deep-cycle batteries (72 cells total) with 2.7 inch cell spacing.
Valves thread directly into existing vent cap openings -- no drilling, no adapters needed on standard cells.
Designed for standard 6V flooded lead-acid cells. Compatible with most major battery brands at 2.7 inch spacing.
This is a complete watering system -- everything you need to interconnect 12 x 6V batteries is in the box:
Note: A water source (hand pump, water gun, or garden hose adapter) is sold separately by Flow-Rite. The fill port accepts the standard Flow-Rite quick-connect fitting used across the Pro-Fill product line.
Each float-based shut-off valve is calibrated to stop flow at the correct electrolyte level for standard flooded lead-acid cells -- typically 1/8 inch below the bottom of the fill well. This protects plates and prevents the electrolyte stratification that shortens battery life. Because each valve operates independently, a nearly-full cell will not cause an underfilled cell to stay dry.
Installation does not require special tools. The process follows these basic steps:
Typical installation time for a full 12-battery bank is 30 to 60 minutes for a first-time installer. The tubing is pre-cut to match the 2.7 inch cell spacing of standard 6V batteries, so no cutting or custom routing is required for a standard bank layout.
The BG-U72-1A fill port uses the standard Flow-Rite quick-connect fitting. Compatible water sources include:
