The Garnet 710-AR2 is a 9-inch external sensor board designed for the SeeLevel II tank monitoring system. This compact sensor is optimized for low-profile and shorter tanks commonly found in travel trailers, camper vans, and truck campers where vertical space is limited.0.25" ResolutionLow-Profile9" Tall
What sets the 710-AR2 apart is its highest resolution of any SeeLevel sensor – just 0.25" (1/4") per sensing segment. This means more measurement points packed into a shorter length, giving you the most accurate readings possible for tanks under 11 inches tall.
The 710-AR2 has 0.25" resolution – the finest of all SeeLevel sensors: 710-AR2: 0.25" resolution (THIS SENSOR) 710-ES3: 0.33" resolution 710-SS2: 0.44" resolution For low-profile tanks, this higher resolution means more sensing segments per inch, resulting in more accurate and granular tank level readings.
The 710-AR2 is the best choice for: • Travel trailers with shallow underbelly tanks • Camper vans with space-constrained installations • Truck campers with low-profile holding tanks • Pop-up campers with compact tank designs • Any tank 3" to 10.5" tall where maximum resolution is desired Because it has more sensing segments per inch than larger sensors, you get better accuracy on shorter tanks.
Choose the right sensor based on your tank height:
For tanks under 10.5", the 710-AR2 provides the best resolution. For taller tanks, consider the 710-ES3 or 710-SS2.
Like all SeeLevel sensors, the 710-AR2 uses capacitive sensing technology to detect fluid levels through the tank wall – no contact with tank contents required. The sensor has multiple "sensing pads" along its 9-inch length, each detecting whether liquid is present at that level.
When you press a button on your SeeLevel monitor, it queries the sensor and displays the tank level as a percentage (0-100%). With 0.25" resolution, the 710-AR2 provides more data points than other sensors, giving you finer-grained readings on shorter tanks.
The 710-AR2 can be trimmed to fit shorter tanks:
The 710-AR2 requires a minimum of 3 sensing segments to function properly. Cutting the sensor shorter than 3" will result in the sensor not working. If your tank is under 3.5" tall, contact Garnet for recommendations.
For tanks taller than 10.5", two 710-AR2 sensors can be stacked vertically:
For tanks 10" to 14" tall, you have options: Option A: Stack two 710-AR2 sensors (maintains 0.25" resolution) Option B: Use a single 710-ES3 (simpler install, 0.33" resolution) Stacking maintains the AR2's superior resolution but requires more effort. For most users, a single 710-ES3 is simpler for mid-height tanks.
If you stack two sensors, they must be the same model. Do not mix a 710-AR2 with a 710-ES3 or 710-SS2. Each sensor type has different segment spacing and communication protocols. Note: Previous model senders (710-JS, 710-ES, 710-ES2, 710-SS) CAN be combined with new sender models for replacement purposes.
The 710-AR2 works with all SeeLevel II monitors:
Note: On 4-tank monitor models (709-P4), the gray and galley tanks can only have one sender each (no stacking).
• Position sensor 1/4" to 3/4" from tank top and bottom – accounts for tank wall thickness • Keep metal at least 1" away – metal near the sensor affects readings • Route wires to the RIGHT – never route wires across or left of the sensor • Avoid air gaps – sensor must fully contact tank surface • Test BEFORE permanent adhesion – verify readings while taped in place
On fresh water tanks, the outlet for the pump feed may sit more than 1 inch above the tank bottom. Your water pump may begin sucking air before the tank reads "empty." In these cases, install the sensor above the outlet for the pump feed so the monitor reads "0" before the pump sucks air.
The 710-AR2 is the ideal choice when:
SeeLevel sensors use capacitive technology to sense through plastic tank walls. They will NOT work with metal tanks (stainless steel, aluminum). The vast majority of RV holding tanks are roto-cast polyethylene plastic.
*On 4-tank models, gray and galley tanks can only have one sender (no stacking).
Individually – one sensor per package. Order one sensor per tank (or two if double-stacking).
Higher resolution = more sensing segments = more accurate readings on short tanks.
The 710-AR2 is the updated version of the original 710-AR. Both are compatible with all SeeLevel II monitors. If you're replacing an older 710-AR sensor, the 710-AR2 is the correct replacement. Previous model senders (710-JS, 710-ES, 710-ES2, 710-SS) can be combined with new sender models.
