Husky Towing 2" Receiver 60 lb Capacity Husky Towing 81146 Hitch Mount 2-Bike Rack

Carry two bikes on your RV, SUV, or truck with the Husky Towing 81146 -- a no-nonsense, heavy-duty steel hitch-mount bike carrier built for standard 2-inch receivers. A built-in swivel point lets you pivot the entire rack out of the way so you can still open your rear door or trunk without unloading your bikes first.

Solid Steel Carry for Two Bikes -- No Trunk Straps, No Fuss

The 81146 slots directly into any standard 2-inch receiver hitch -- the same hitch you already use to tow. No trunk straps to scratch your paint, no roof loading required. Frame-clamp arms grip each bike's frame securely, and the entire rack is built from heavy-duty steel with a powder-coated finish that resists rust and road grime over years of use.

The swivel feature is especially practical for RVers and SUV owners: rather than fully removing loaded bikes to access your rear cargo area, you simply rotate the rack to the side. That saves real time at the campground when you're grabbing gear after a ride.

Standard 2" Receiver Fit

Inserts directly into any 2-inch receiver hitch on an RV, SUV, truck, or van. No adapters needed for the most common hitch class.

Swivel for Rear Access

Rack pivots at the shank so you can open your rear door or access trunk cargo without unloading bikes first.

Frame Clamp Hold

Adjustable frame-clamp arms hold each bike securely at the frame. Accommodates a range of bicycle frame styles and sizes.

Powder-Coated Steel

Heavy-duty metal construction with a powder-coated finish resists corrosion from weather, road spray, and everyday outdoor exposure.

Who This Rack Is For

The 81146 is a practical choice for:

  • RV owners who carry bikes for campground riding and want quick access to their rear storage bay or coach door
  • SUV and truck drivers who want a bolt-on carrier that doesn't require a roof rack or trunk straps
  • Weekend warriors who need a simple, durable rack they can leave on the vehicle for a full camping trip
  • Anyone who already has a 2-inch receiver hitch and wants to maximize it
Swivel Access -- A Real Campground Advantage

Most fixed hitch racks require you to remove the bikes to open your rear door. The 81146's swivel arm means you can grab your camp chairs, cooler, or gear bags without touching the bikes -- a small feature that makes a noticeable difference on every trip.

Frame Clamp Design

Each bike sits in a padded frame-clamp cradle. The clamps grip the top tube or main frame tube of the bicycle, which is a common and secure hold style for standard diamond-frame bikes. This design does not rely on wheel wells or wheel straps alone -- the frame contact point bears the load and keeps bikes from rocking during transit.

Note on Bike Styles

Frame-clamp designs work best with traditional diamond-frame bicycles (road, mountain, hybrid). Non-standard frames -- step-through, full-suspension with unusual top tubes, or very heavy e-bikes -- may require an adapter bar or may not be compatible. Total rack capacity is 60 lbs across both bikes combined.

Installation and Use

Installation requires no tools beyond what's needed to secure the rack's anti-rattle bolt into your receiver. Steps are straightforward:

  • Insert the 2-inch shank into your receiver and secure with the hitch pin and clip (hitch pin not specified as included -- use your existing receiver hardware or a standard 5/8-inch hitch pin)
  • Swing the bike arms into position
  • Load each bike onto the frame clamps and tighten the arm hardware
  • Use the swivel lock to keep the rack in the travel position while driving
Lock Not Included

The 81146 does not include a hitch lock or bike cable lock. To secure the rack to the receiver and to lock your bikes to the rack, you will need to purchase locks separately. A standard 5/8-inch hitch lock pin fits the receiver shank.

Care and Maintenance Tips
  • Rinse the rack after driving in rain, snow, or road salt conditions to preserve the powder-coat finish
  • Periodically check and re-tighten all bolts and clamp hardware before each trip
  • Apply a light coat of spray lubricant to the swivel pivot point each season to keep it moving freely
  • Store indoors or covered when not in use for extended periods

Important Information -- Read Before Installing
  • Maximum combined bike weight is 60 lbs. Do not exceed this limit -- overloading can stress the receiver hitch and rack hardware.
  • This rack is designed for standard 2-inch receiver hitches only. It is NOT compatible with 1-1/4-inch receivers without an adapter, and adapters are not recommended for load-bearing bike carriers.
  • Non-folding design -- the rack cannot be collapsed when not in use. Remove from receiver for storage or when not needed to reduce drag and improve visibility.
  • A hitch lock and bike security lock are NOT included. Leaving bikes unattended without locking hardware is a theft risk.
  • Frame-clamp design may not be suitable for step-through frames, full-suspension bikes with unconventional top tubes, or heavy e-bikes. Verify bike compatibility before loading.
  • Always verify the rack is fully locked in the travel position and all clamp hardware is tightened before driving.
  • Check your vehicle's hitch receiver weight rating (tongue weight capacity). The combined weight of the rack plus bikes must not exceed that rating.
