The Koni 8805-1022 FSD Rear Shock is the definitive suspension upgrade for Class A diesel pushers on Freightliner XC-platform chassis — one of the most widely used diesel pusher platforms in premium motorhome history. Covering the Freightliner XC, XCR, XCM, and XCS from 1993 onward, plus the Roadmaster R4R and RR4R, Alpine Peak, and Spartan Summit and Alpine chassis, this shock addresses the single most common complaint of diesel pusher owners: excessive rear bounce, sway, and road noise entering the coach.
KONI FSD technology combines the best of both worlds — the shock is firm when you need control (cornering, lane changes, heavy suspension compression) and automatically softens over expansion joints, bridge transitions, and rough pavement. A specialized parallel valve system filters road vibrations before they reach the chassis, dramatically reducing the fatigue of long highway runs and the noise that characterizes worn or inadequate OEM shocks.

Will NOT fit 2002–2011 Freightliner XCS with Airliner Rear Suspension: The XCS Airliner rear suspension uses wide shock mounts that are incompatible with this shock. The 8805-1022 only fits XCS models from 1993–2001 and 2012–current (non-Airliner). Ride Height Check for Monaco RR4R: On Monaco RR4R chassis rear positions, this shock is correct only if the ride height measures 16"–16.5". If your ride height measures over 17 inches, use Koni 8805-1009 instead. Verify your chassis model, suspension type, and ride height before ordering.
Neway or V-Ride Only: This shock is for rear axle positions equipped with Neway or V-Ride air suspension. Not compatible with other rear suspension configurations on these chassis. Sold Individually: One shock absorber per package. Order qty 2 for a complete rear axle replacement. Tag Axle: This shock is for the main rear drive axle position. Tag axle positions may require a different part number depending on chassis configuration.
⚠️ Before Installation — Critical Stroke Check: With the vehicle at proper ride height, measure the distance between the shock mounting points. Then collapse and extend the new shock fully and measure both extremes. The shock should be near the center of its stroke when installed, with at least 3" of stroke available in either direction. If this clearance is not met, do not install — the shock could break and the warranty will be voided.
FSD Shocks Are Self-Adjusting: Gold-colored KONI FSD shocks automatically adjust their damping — no manual adjustment is needed or possible.
