Lippert 771412 -- Edge Awning Idler Head Front Cover, Black
Restore the clean factory finish of your Lippert Edge awning. This OEM replacement front cover fits the idler head -- the non-motorized left side of the awning arm -- and snaps back into place using your existing screws.
The Lippert 771412 is the factory replacement front cover for the idler head on Lippert Edge series RV awnings. The idler head is the non-motorized end of the awning arm assembly -- standing outside the RV and facing the awning, the idler head is on the left side. The drive head (motorized) is on the right.
Sun, UV exposure, and road vibration can cause the original plastic cover to crack, fade, or break free. This part restores the finished appearance of the awning arm end cap and protects the internal idler mechanism from debris and weather.
Fits the idler (non-motorized, left) head only -- not the drive head. Verify your side before ordering.
Black finish matches the factory Lippert Edge awning arm color for a clean, unmodified look.
Front cover only. No screws or hardware included -- reuse the existing fasteners from your original cover.
Lippert part number 771412, vendor part 30-3439. Designed specifically for the Edge awning platform.
Stand outside your RV and face the awning. The idler head is on the left -- it has no motor and simply pivots as the awning extends and retracts. The drive head on the right contains the motor and wiring. This cover (771412) fits the idler side only. If your damaged cover is on the right (motorized) side, you need the drive head cover instead.
Before removing your damaged cover, note the position and count of existing fasteners. The cover typically secures with two screws into the idler head body. Retain all hardware during removal. No special tools are required beyond a standard screwdriver.
This cover is designed for the Lippert Edge RV awning series. The Edge is a popular motorized slide-topper and main awning platform found on many travel trailers and fifth wheels. If you are unsure whether your awning is the Edge series, check the awning arm label or compare the idler head profile to the Lippert Edge parts diagram using the part numbers below.
Inspect awning arm covers annually, especially after winter storage or UV-heavy seasons. Early replacement of a cracked cover prevents moisture and road grime from reaching the internal pivot and spring components of the idler head, extending the life of the full arm assembly.
