The Lippert 2024028242 is a forward self-adjusting electric brake assembly built for the left (driver) side of a heavy-duty 12,000 to 16,000 lb trailer axle. Unlike standard electric brakes that need periodic manual adjustment, this design self-adjusts during every forward stop, helping maintain consistent stopping power and reducing premature wear on brake linings and magnets over time.
Requiring only an electric brake controller (sold separately), installation is simpler than a hydraulic system since there's no actuator or hydraulic lines to run. Shoes use automotive-grade friction material, and the backing plate carries an E-coat finish to resist rust and corrosion.
