The Lippert SolidStep delivers a no-bounce, rock-solid entry experience for trailer owners who are tired of wobbly, corroded step systems. Aluminum treads stay parallel to the ground regardless of terrain, and the entire unit folds and stores inside the entry door -- protecting it from road grime, weather, and rust. Fits doorway widths from 25" to 28-7/8" and supports up to 400 lbs.
Most fold-down steps rattle, flex, and collect road debris in every hinge and crevice. The SolidStep design addresses all of that. Steel construction eliminates bounce and flex, aluminum treads with rubber grip strips prevent slipping in wet or muddy conditions, and the fold-up storage position tucks the entire assembly inside your trailer's entry door frame -- away from spray, mud, and UV exposure.
Two safety latches lock the steps into the deployed position so there is no unexpected folding while you are on them. When you are ready to roll, the same latches release quickly and the steps stow cleanly inside the doorway.
Heavy-gauge black steel construction eliminates the flex and rattle common to lighter aluminum fold-down steps. Feels like a permanent step when deployed.
Step surfaces stay parallel to the ground as you deploy and retract, reducing trip and slip risk compared to steps that angle forward or backward.
Extendable legs with a quick-release latch compensate for uneven ground -- gravel pads, sloped sites, or soft surfaces where standard fixed steps sink or tilt.
Unique SolidStep fold position places the unit inside the door opening when retracted, shielding hinges and treads from road debris and corrosion between uses.
The SolidStep mounts into existing door hardware using the included bracket system. Bracket width is adjustable from 23" to 31-13/16" to fit a range of door frames. Mounting screws are included for both wood and laminate floor applications, so you do not need to source separate hardware for either substrate.
A kickplate is built into the design to prevent damage to your trailer's sidewall and skirt as the steps deploy and retract. The extra-wide top step (13" deep) provides a generous landing surface when stepping in or out -- wider than the 8.5" lower steps.
