MB Sturgis 350 PSI Rated UL/CGA Certified MB Sturgis 06-1380 High-Pressure Propane Hose -- 3/8" Female Flare Swivel x 3/8" MPT, 48"

A USA-made, UL/CGA-certified high-pressure propane hose built for connecting your RV or trailer propane supply to high-BTU appliances, generators, fryers, griddles, or any device requiring a full-pressure, unregulated or post-regulator high-pressure propane feed. At 48 inches long, it gives you enough reach to route around cabinets, tanks, or exterior compartments without straining fittings.

The Right Hose for High-Pressure Propane Lines

Not every propane hose is rated for high-pressure service. The MB Sturgis 06-1380 is specifically designed to handle up to 350 PSI -- well above the working pressure of typical RV propane systems -- making it safe and appropriate for connections on the high-pressure (pre-regulator) side of the system or for appliances that require higher delivery pressure than a standard low-pressure regulated line can provide.

The 3/8" female flare swivel end threads onto a standard 3/8" male flare fitting without twisting the hose body, which prevents kinking and makes installation in tight compartments much easier. The 3/8" MPT (male pipe thread) opposite end connects directly to appliance inlets, tee fittings, or high-pressure regulators with a standard 3/8" female pipe thread port.

350 PSI Pressure Rating

Rated for high-pressure propane service, well above typical RV system working pressures for a wide safety margin.

Swivel End for Easy Install

The 3/8" female flare swivel rotates freely so you can tighten connections without twisting or kinking the hose body.

Wide Temperature Range

Rated from -40 deg F to 140 deg F, handling cold-weather camping and warm summer use without hardening or cracking.

UL/CGA Certified, Made in USA

Meets UL and CGA standards for propane hose assemblies. Manufactured in the United States by MB Sturgis.

Thread Compatibility

Getting the thread types right matters on propane -- a wrong-thread connection will leak. This hose uses two distinct thread standards:

  • 3/8" Female Flare Swivel (inlet end): Connects to any 3/8" male flare fitting. This is a SAE 45-degree flare connection standard common on RV propane valves, T-fittings, and regulator outlets. No pipe dope -- use only a compatible flare seat; do not use Teflon tape on flare connections.
  • 3/8" MPT (outlet end): Male pipe thread, 3/8" NPT. Threads into a 3/8" female pipe thread (FPT) port on your appliance, regulator, or manifold. Use an appropriate gas-rated thread sealant or yellow PTFE tape on this connection.
Swivel Advantage: The rotating female flare end lets you align the hose run after both ends are hand-started, then tighten with a wrench -- no pipe wrench gymnastics needed in cramped compartments.

Typical RV and Outdoor Applications

  • Connecting RV propane tank valves or manifolds to high-pressure appliances
  • Feeding propane to outdoor high-BTU burners, griddles, or turkey fryers from an RV or portable tank setup
  • Replacing a cracked, stiff, or aged hose in an existing propane system
  • Extending or rerouting propane lines during RV remodels or appliance upgrades
  • Portable generator propane conversion connections
High-Pressure vs. Low-Pressure: This hose is for the high-pressure side of your propane system (before or at the regulator, or to high-pressure-rated appliances). If your appliance requires a regulated low-pressure line (typically 11" water column / 0.4 PSI), use a low-pressure hose and regulator assembly instead. Check your appliance data plate for required inlet pressure before installation.

Installation Tips

  • Hand-tighten flare connections first, then snug with a wrench -- flare fittings seal on the metal seat, not thread engagement, so do not over-tighten.
  • Apply yellow gas-rated PTFE tape or gas-rated pipe dope to the 3/8" MPT end before threading into the appliance port.
  • Route the hose away from heat sources, exhaust pipes, and sharp edges. Use grommets where the hose passes through metal panels.
  • After connection, perform a leak test with diluted dish soap or an approved leak-detection solution before lighting any appliance.
  • Inspect the hose annually for cracking, stiffening, or fitting corrosion, especially if stored outdoors or in climates with UV exposure.
Maintenance Tip: Propane hoses degrade over time from UV, heat cycling, and ozone exposure. Even if there are no visible cracks, replace any hose that feels brittle, shows surface checking, or has corroded fittings. MB Sturgis recommends periodic inspection as part of routine propane system maintenance.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing
  • This hose is rated for high-pressure propane (LP gas) service only. Do not use with natural gas systems, oxygen, or any other gas or fluid.
  • Maximum rated pressure is 350 PSI. Never exceed this rating or use in systems with uncontrolled pressure sources.
  • Do not use Teflon tape or pipe dope on the female flare swivel end -- flare fittings seal on the metal cone seat. Tape on a flare thread can prevent proper seating and cause leaks.
  • Always leak-test with an approved solution after installation. Never use an open flame to check for leaks.
  • Keep hose away from open flames, hot surfaces, exhaust outlets, and sharp edges during installation and use.
  • Temperature limits are -40 deg F to 140 deg F. Do not route near heat sources that could exceed this range.
  • Inspect hose before each season of use. Replace immediately if cracking, kinking, abrasion damage, or fitting corrosion is found.
  • Installation must comply with NFPA 58 (LP Gas Code) and all applicable local codes. When in doubt, consult a qualified LP gas technician.
