The MB Sturgis 103538-MBS Sturgi-Stay Kit eliminates that problem entirely. It installs inline between your motorhome's built-in propane tank valve and its existing regulator, creating two additional quick-disconnect ports that let you connect an auxiliary 20 lb propane cylinder to supplement your built-in supply — without moving the coach at all.
The heart of the kit is a precision brass T-fitting with a POL tank connector inlet, a female POL pass-through outlet (which routes to your existing regulator), and two Model 250 female quick-disconnect ports. The included 72" fill hose (POL connection + Male Model 250 QD Plug) connects a standard 20 lb auxiliary cylinder to one of the QD ports. The second QD port is available for connecting a portable propane appliance — a grill, heater, or lantern — directly to the system. Because the Sturgi-Stay installs upstream of the regulator, the gas at its QD ports is at higher, pre-regulator pressure — providing ample capacity for portable appliance use.

The Sturgi-Stay T-fitting installs between the propane tank valve and the motorhome's existing regulator. This means the gas available at the two Model 250 quick-disconnect ports is at high, pre-regulator pressure — not the low water-column pressure your RV's appliances use. This is important for portable appliance use: When connecting a portable grill, heater, or lantern to one of the Sturgi-Stay's QD ports, ensure the appliance has its own built-in pressure regulator or is specifically rated for high-pressure gas input. Do not feed high-pressure gas directly to an appliance designed for low-pressure use without an appropriate regulator in line. Auxiliary tank connection: When connecting the auxiliary 20 lb cylinder via the included fill hose, the auxiliary tank's gas flows through the system at tank pressure. Ensure all connections are secure before opening the auxiliary tank valve.
The 103538-MBS kit creates a simple inline T in your motorhome's POL connection path: Step 1 — T-Fitting Installation: Disconnect your existing POL pigtail hose from the tank valve. Thread the Sturgi-Stay's POL inlet onto the tank valve. Reconnect your existing pigtail to the Sturgi-Stay's female POL outlet — restoring the original connection path. Step 2 — Auxiliary Tank: Connect the included 72" fill hose between a standard 20 lb auxiliary cylinder and one of the Sturgi-Stay's Model 250 QD ports. Open the auxiliary tank to supplement the motorhome's propane supply. Installation Steps: 1. Shut Off Gas Supply: Close the motorhome's propane tank valve completely 2. Remove Existing Pigtail from Tank Valve: Disconnect the existing POL pigtail from the motorhome's tank valve 3. Install Sturgi-Stay T-Fitting: Thread the T-fitting's POL inlet onto the motorhome's tank valve 4. Reconnect Existing Pigtail: Reconnect the motorhome's existing POL pigtail hose to the T-fitting's female POL outlet — this restores normal motorhome propane flow 5. Connect Fill Hose to Auxiliary Tank: Connect the included 72" fill hose's POL end to the auxiliary 20 lb cylinder 6. Plug Fill Hose into QD Port: Insert the fill hose's Male Model 250 QD plug into one of the T-fitting's female QD ports 7.
