The MORryde SP54-267 RV Snap Trap is a snap-on P-trap solution designed specifically for standard 3" RV sewer hoses. It helps create a water-seal barrier in the sewer hose run to reduce sewer gas and sewer flies from traveling back through the RV plumbing system.
This makes it especially helpful for campers who want to leave gray tank valves open for extended periods while using showers, sinks, washing machines, and other water appliances. The RV Snap Trap can be installed at the beginning, middle, or end of the sewer hose run, allowing the setup to be adjusted for different campsite layouts.

The MORryde RV Snap Trap fits standard 3" diameter flexible RV sewer hoses. It is not compatible with Lippert Waste Master hose, because that hose has a larger diameter. The RV Snap Trap requires a standard RV sewer hose support to maintain the recommended drainage grade of 1/4" per foot. Avoid installation when outdoor temperatures are expected to fall below freezing, since water retained in the trap may freeze and obstruct flow.
The RV Snap Trap forms a low point in the sewer hose run that holds water, similar to a household P-trap. That retained water helps block sewer gas and sewer flies from traveling back through the hose and into the RV plumbing system. Flexible placement: The trap can be installed near the beginning, middle, or end of the sewer hose run depending on campsite layout and terrain. Common placement: MORryde notes that the middle of the sewer hose support run is the most common installation location. Gray tank use: This setup can help support prolonged gray tank valve use for showers, sinks, washing machines, and other water appliances. Quarterly clean-out: For gray holding tanks left open and in continual use for extended periods, MORryde recommends a quarterly clean-out every three months.
1. Set Up Hose Support: Position a standard RV sewer hose support with enough room for the RV Snap Trap. 2. Choose Trap Location: Install the trap at the beginning, middle, or end of the sewer hose run based on campsite conditions. The middle of the hose support run is the most common location. 3. Snap Onto Hose: Snap the RV Snap Trap onto a standard 3" flexible RV sewer hose. 4. Check Hose Support: Make sure the sewer hose remains properly supported before and after the Snap Trap. 5. Check Drainage: Confirm the sewer hose support maintains the recommended 1/4" per foot drainage grade. 6. Remove for Travel: Disconnect, clean as needed, and store the trap before travel. Always follow MORryde installation instructions and campground sewer connection rules.
When gray holding tank valves are left open and used continually for extended periods, MORryde recommends filling, cleansing, and flushing the gray holding tank at least quarterly, or every three months. The MORryde clean-out method includes closing the gate valve, adding approximately 2 ounces of Dawn Ultra dish soap into a drain connected to the holding tank, allowing the tank to fill to about two-thirds full under normal use, letting the cleaning solution work for at least 24 hours, and then opening the gate valve to drain the tank completely.
