The MTI Industry 35-742-R-WT-KIT Safe-T-Alert alarm detector kit combines carbon monoxide and propane/LP gas detection in one RV safety device. It is designed for RV interiors where both CO and LP gas protection are needed in a flush-mount installation.
This kit version is intended for compatible RV propane safety systems that use a relay-controlled shutoff valve. When a propane leak is detected, the alarm sounds and the included valve-control setup is designed to shut off the gas supply when installed correctly.
The 35 Series can also be used to upgrade certain older single 12V propane gas alarms to a dual CO/LP gas alarm, but fitment should always be confirmed by the existing detector model, wall opening, wiring, and propane shutoff setup before ordering.

This is the R / KIT version with relay and solenoid valve components. It should be used only when the RV propane safety system is designed for this style of detector-controlled gas shutoff. Do not use this kit as a direct replacement for a standard non-relay alarm unless the wiring and propane shutoff system are compatible.
Disconnect 12V power and shut off propane before installation. Confirm the existing detector and propane shutoff wiring are compatible with the relay/solenoid kit. Install the alarm, wire the relay/valve components, and test both alarm operation and gas shutoff function according to the included MTI instructions.

Before ordering, confirm the old detector model, wall cutout, wire count, relay/solenoid function, propane shutoff valve setup, color, and voltage. This kit is not the same as a standard non-relay CO/LP detector and should not be substituted without checking the RV’s propane safety system.
If the alarm sounds, carbon monoxide symptoms are present, or propane odor is detected, evacuate the RV immediately. Shut off propane if safe to do so, avoid flames, sparks, smoking, appliances, generators, electrical switches, and phones inside the RV, and have the RV inspected before use. Do not ignore, disable, cover, paint, or relocate the alarm outside the manufacturer’s approved installation instructions.
