Black 12V hardwired propane/LP gas alarm detector for RVs, with surface-mount installation, mute/reset function, and RV-rated operating range.
The MTI Industry 30-441-P-BL Safe-T-Alert alarm detector is a 12V hardwired propane/LP gas detector designed for RV use. It monitors the surrounding air for propane gas and activates an audible alarm when gas levels reach a dangerous threshold.
This black surface-mount detector is commonly used as a replacement for expired, damaged, or malfunctioning LP gas alarms in RVs. It is intended for installations where the existing detector is LP-only, powered by the RV’s 12V DC system, and mounted on the wall surface rather than recessed into a cutout.
Because propane is heavier than air, LP gas detectors are typically installed low in the RV according to the manufacturer’s installation instructions. Always follow the detector placement and wiring requirements included with the alarm.
Alerts occupants when dangerous propane gas levels are detected
Runs from the RV’s 12V DC electrical system
Mounts to the wall surface for compatible replacement installations
Designed to operate from -40°F to +158°F
MTI Industry 30-441-P-BL is a propane/LP gas alarm detector only. It does not detect carbon monoxide and should not be used to replace a combination CO/LP alarm detector. If the original alarm detects both CO and LP gas, use the correct combination replacement instead.
Disconnect 12V power before removing the old detector. Mount the alarm in an approved RV LP gas detector location and connect it to the RV’s 12V DC wiring according to the included MTI instructions. After installation, test the alarm using the test/reset button and confirm normal operation before using the RV.
Package Contents: • 1 MTI Industry / Safe-T-Alert 30-441-P-BL LP gas alarm detector • Mounting hardware/instructions as supplied by current manufacturer packaging NOT Included — May Also Need: • CO alarm or combination CO/LP alarm • Smoke alarm • Replacement wiring, connectors, fuse, or circuit repair parts • Trim ring or adapter plate unless supplied by current packaging • Propane system inspection or leak repair • Professional RV electrical service This listing is for the LP gas alarm detector only unless otherwise stated.
Before ordering, confirm the existing detector is an LP-only, 12V hardwired, surface-mount alarm. Compare the old detector’s footprint, wire routing, wall location, and color. If replacing an older detector, check whether screw holes or wall discoloration may require a trim plate or wall repair.
If the alarm sounds or propane odor is detected, evacuate the RV immediately. Shut off propane if safe to do so, avoid flames, sparks, smoking, appliances, generators, electrical switches, and phones inside the RV, and have the propane system inspected before use. Do not ignore, disable, cover, paint, or relocate the alarm outside the manufacturer’s approved installation instructions.
