A wrench-free, code-compliant propane pigtail hose engineered specifically for RV regulators and on-demand water heaters. The MECMER426H-20 connects your Marshall Excelsior MEGR-253 or MEGR-253H regulator to a standard QCC Type 1 LP cylinder with a hand-tightened nylon nut -- and it shuts off automatically if excess flow or dangerous heat is detected.
Marshall Excelsior built the MECMER426H-20 to do more than just move propane from the tank to the regulator. Every component in this pigtail -- from the heat-sensitive brass nipple to the internal flow-limiting device -- is engineered to interrupt gas flow before a minor problem becomes a serious one. It is 100% leak-tested at the factory and carries a limited 5-year manufacturer warranty.
The 20-inch length gives enough reach to connect dual-cylinder setups without straining fittings, and the swiveling nylon hand-nut means you never need a wrench at the cylinder end. The Female QCC Type 1 inlet threads onto any standard 1-lb or 20-lb ACME-valved LP cylinder sold in North America.
An internal flow-limiting device senses excess gas flow and restricts output to a maximum of 10 SCFH bypass flow, reducing risk in hose-failure or downstream leak scenarios.
Between 240 F and 300 F the brass nipple displaces approximately 1/4 inch, closing the cylinder valve module and stopping gas flow from the container automatically.
The swiveling nylon hand-nut threads onto QCC Type 1 cylinder valves finger-tight -- no wrench needed at the cylinder end, making hookup and changeover fast and safe.
1/4-inch ID thermoplastic hose body with brass ferrules handles up to 350 PSIG working pressure and resists kinking, UV exposure, and LP gas permeation.
This pigtail is specifically intended for use with the Marshall Excelsior MEGR-253 and MEGR-253H two-stage automatic changeover regulators -- the standard equipment on the majority of Class A, Class C, and fifth-wheel propane systems. It is also rated for on-demand (tankless) LP water heater applications where a direct, high-capacity connection to the cylinder is required.
This hose meets both RVIA (Recreation Vehicle Industry Association) and NFPA 1192 (Standard on Recreational Vehicles) requirements for LP gas piping connections. If your rig needs to pass a propane system inspection or annual safety check, this pigtail satisfies the applicable code language for flexible connector assemblies.
Regulator, cylinder, and fittings are not included.
