Marshall Excelsior 350 PSIG Rated Made in USA MER413-24 -- 3/8" Female Flare x 3/8" Female Flare Propane Hose, 24 Inch

A purpose-built LP gas transfer hose for RV, camper, and portable propane applications. The Marshall Excelsior MER413-24 is a 24-inch flexible thermoplastic hose with 3/8" female flare fittings on both ends, fully crimped brass ferrules, thermal protection, and a 350 PSIG working pressure rating -- backed by a 5-year limited manufacturer warranty and Made in the USA.

Reliable LP Gas Connection for RVs and Portable Setups

Whether you are connecting a secondary propane appliance, extending a regulator outlet, or plumbing an auxiliary tank in your RV, this hose gives you a safe, code-compliant connection with no improvised adapters. Both ends are 3/8" female flare (SAE 45-degree), the standard fitting found on most RV LP regulators, appliance inlets, and portable propane accessories.

At 24 inches, this hose offers enough reach to connect a regulator to an appliance or to bridge two fittings without excess slack that can kink or chafe. The flexible thermoplastic core bends around tight compartment corners without cracking, and the thermal protection layer adds resistance against heat sources common in RV propane compartments.

350 PSIG Working Pressure

Exceeds typical RV LP system operating pressures, rated well above the 11" WC (roughly 0.4 PSI) low-pressure side and the high-pressure tank side.

400 lb. Pull Test Rating

Crimped brass ferrules are pull-tested to 400 lbs., keeping the fitting-to-hose joint intact even if the hose is accidentally stressed during installation or travel.

UL and CGA Approved

Meets Underwriters Laboratories and Compressed Gas Association standards for LP gas hose -- required for code-compliant RV propane plumbing and campground hookups.

Made in USA -- 5-Year Warranty

Manufactured domestically by Marshall Excelsior with a limited 5-year manufacturer warranty covering materials and workmanship.

Fitting Identification: 3/8" Female Flare

Both ends of this hose use a 3/8" female flare (SAE 45-degree) connection. This fitting type has a flared seat inside the nut that seals against a male flare fitting -- no pipe thread sealant or tape is used or needed. The 3/8" size refers to the nominal tubing size the fitting is designed for, and it is the most common connection found on:

  • Two-stage and single-stage RV LP regulators (outlet port)
  • RV furnace and water heater gas inlets
  • Portable propane appliance adapters and hose-end regulators
  • Auxiliary LP tank pigtail manifolds

Both ends being female means each end accepts a male flare fitting (a threaded male nose with a 45-degree flared nose). Verify your equipment uses male 3/8" flare connections on both sides before ordering.

Thermoplastic Core with Thermal Protection
The hose body is flexible thermoplastic -- lighter and more flexible than rubber at cold temperatures, important for winter camping and high-altitude use. The thermal protection layer wraps the core to resist radiant heat from nearby appliances, exhaust, or hot compartment surfaces.

Common RV Applications

  • Connecting a second-stage regulator outlet to an RV appliance or interior gas line
  • Plumbing a portable propane generator or grill off the RV's onboard LP system
  • Replacing a cracked, kinked, or aged propane hose in the LP compartment
  • Creating a short service loop between rigid copper tubing runs to absorb vibration
  • Connecting auxiliary propane bottles in a dual-tank manifold setup
About Hose Length and Sizing
The 24-inch (2-foot) length is measured tip-to-tip including fittings. The hose body itself has a nominal 1/4" inner diameter, which is appropriate for low-pressure downstream LP gas flow to individual appliances. For longer runs or high-demand appliances, consider Marshall Excelsior hoses in longer lengths (48", 60", etc.) from the same MER413 series.
Installation Tips
  • Hand-tighten the flare nut first, then snug with a wrench -- 1/4 to 1/2 turn past hand-tight. Over-tightening can deform the flare seat.
  • Never use Teflon tape or pipe dope on flare fittings. The metal-to-metal flare seal is self-sealing.
  • After installation, test with a propane leak detector or soapy water solution before applying any open flame.
  • Avoid routing the hose against sharp edges, exhaust components, or moving mechanical parts.
  • Inspect annually for cracking, kinking, or fitting corrosion. Replace if any deterioration is found.

Important Safety Information
  • This hose is rated for LP (propane) gas service only. Do not use with natural gas, oxygen, acetylene, or compressed air.
  • Maximum working pressure is 350 PSIG. Do not use in high-pressure cylinder service exceeding this rating.
  • Both ends are 3/8" FEMALE flare. You must have 3/8" MALE flare connections on both pieces of equipment being connected. Using incorrect fittings or adapters can create leak points.
  • Do not use Teflon tape, pipe dope, or any sealant on flare fittings -- improper sealants can cause fitting failure.
  • Always perform a leak test after installation. Use an approved propane leak detector solution or electronic detector -- never an open flame.
  • Inspect the hose before each season of use. Replace immediately if the hose shows cracking, brittleness, kinking, abrasion through the outer layer, or if any fitting shows corrosion or looseness.
  • Keep away from open flames, sparks, and heat sources exceeding the hose's thermal protection rating during use.
  • Installation must comply with NFPA 58 (LP Gas Code) and all applicable local codes. If in doubt, consult a qualified LP gas service technician.
