A properly rated propane pigtail is one of the most critical connections in your RV gas system. The Marshall Excelsior MECMER425-24 delivers a high-flow, thermally protected, UL- and CGA-approved connection between your Type 1 QCC tank valve and your RV regulator or manifold -- built to last with fully crimped brass ferrules and a limited 5-year manufacturer warranty.
The MECMER425-24 is a 24-inch flexible thermoplastic LP gas pigtail designed specifically for RV propane systems. It connects a standard QCC Type 1 (POL-style hand-wheel) female fitting at the tank end to a 1/4-inch male inverted flare at the regulator or appliance end. At 200,000 BTU capacity and 100 SCFH flow rate, it handles the full demand of multi-appliance RV setups -- furnace, water heater, range, and refrigerator running simultaneously.
Marshall Excelsior has manufactured LP gas components in the USA for decades. This hose is built to CGA and UL standards with fully crimped brass ferrules on both ends -- no clamps, no compression joints that can loosen over time. The flexible thermoplastic jacket resists ozone, UV, and abrasion, while the integrated thermal protection layer adds a critical safety margin in high-heat environments like propane compartments.
200,000 BTU capacity at 100 SCFH -- supports full multi-appliance RV demand without restrictive flow.
Rated well above normal LP service pressure, with a 400 lb. pull-test rating for connection integrity.
Both ends are factory-crimped -- no clamps to tighten or re-torque over time. Leak-resistant by design.
Thermally protected flexible thermoplastic hose meets UL and CGA requirements for LP gas service.
The QCC Type 1 (also called OPD or Type 1 hand-wheel) female fitting threads onto any standard 20 lb., 30 lb., or larger DOT propane cylinder equipped with a Type 1 OPD valve -- the current standard for all portable cylinders sold in the US. It hand-tightens clockwise (right-hand thread) and includes an internal excess flow check. No wrench required at the tank end.
The 1/4-inch male inverted flare on the opposite end is the standard connection used on most RV two-stage regulators, manifold blocks, and low-pressure appliance inlets. It requires a 7/16-inch wrench for a proper gas-tight seal. Always use two wrenches -- one to hold the fitting body and one to tighten the nut -- to avoid twisting the hose.
