Marshall Excelsior 350 PSIG Rated Made in USA MER413-36 -- 36" Propane Hose, 3/8" Female Flare x 3/8" Female Flare

A heavy-duty, flexible LP gas hose built to RV and appliance standards. The Marshall Excelsior MER413-36 connects propane regulators, tanks, and appliances using standard 3/8" female flare fittings on both ends. UL listed and CGA approved, with a 350 PSIG working pressure rating and fully crimped brass ferrules that seal reliably for the life of the hose.

Reliable LP Gas Connection for RV and Appliance Use

The MER413-36 is a workhorse hose for RV propane systems. At 36 inches long, it gives you enough reach to connect a secondary tank, extend a regulator pigtail, or replace a worn original hose on a trailer, motorhome, or portable setup -- without the awkward positioning that comes with a shorter hose.

Both ends are fitted with 3/8" female flare connections, the standard thread pattern used on most RV propane regulators, POL adapters, and low-pressure appliance fittings. The hose body is flexible thermoplastic construction, UL listed and CGA approved, and includes built-in thermal protection. Fully crimped brass ferrules at each end eliminate hose clamps and reduce leak risk at the connection point.

350 PSIG Working Pressure

Rated for full propane system pressures well above typical low-pressure appliance and RV regulator operating ranges.

400 lb. Pull Test Rating

Crimp integrity verified by pull test -- ferrules and hose body hold together under significant tensile stress.

UL Listed and CGA Approved

Third-party certified for propane (LP gas) service. Meets standards required by most RV manufacturers and inspectors.

Made in the USA

Manufactured by Marshall Excelsior, a Michigan-based propane and gas equipment specialist with decades of industry experience.

Fitting Detail and Thread Compatibility

Both ends of this hose use 3/8" female flare (FF) fittings -- also referred to as 3/8" SAE flare or 3/8"-24 UNF flare thread. This is a common standard across:

  • Two-stage and single-stage RV propane regulators (pigtail connections)
  • POL-to-flare adapters on standard 20 lb. and 30 lb. propane cylinders
  • Low-pressure gas appliance manifolds and tee fittings
  • Portable propane generators and heaters using standard LP fittings

No sealant tape is required on flare fittings -- the metal-to-metal flare seat creates the seal. Hand-tighten first, then snug with a wrench. Do not overtighten.

Crimped Brass Ferrules -- No Clamps Needed

Unlike hose assemblies that use worm-gear clamps, the MER413-36 uses factory-crimped brass ferrules on both ends. The crimp is permanent and factory-tested, so there is nothing to tighten, loosen, or check over time at the ferrule itself. Inspect the flare seat connections at the fittings regularly instead.

Thermal Protection and Hose Material

The hose body is flexible thermoplastic rated for propane service. Built-in thermal protection -- a woven or wrapped outer layer -- provides resistance against incidental heat sources, abrasion from rubbing against the frame or storage compartment walls, and UV degradation. This is important in propane compartments that can see elevated temperatures in warm-weather camping.

1/4" Hose Body Diameter

The hose itself measures 1/4" inner diameter. This is the standard ID for low-flow propane pigtail hoses used between cylinders and regulators. For high-flow appliance connections or runs over 10 feet, a larger-diameter hose may be more appropriate -- but for cylinder-to-regulator use, this is the correct size.

Common RV and Outdoor Applications

  • Replacing worn or cracked regulator pigtail hoses on travel trailers and fifth wheels
  • Connecting a second propane cylinder in a dual-cylinder manifold setup
  • Extending reach from an outdoor propane cylinder to a portable appliance
  • Replacement hose on portable LP gas grills and heaters using 3/8" flare fittings
  • Service and repair on motorhome propane systems
Maintenance Tips
  • Inspect the hose annually for cracks, kinks, abrasion wear, or discoloration.
  • Check flare seat connections with soapy water or a gas leak detector after every reconnect.
  • Do not bend the hose sharply near the ferrule -- allow a gentle radius at the fitting end.
  • Replace the hose if it shows any physical damage, regardless of age.
  • Store out of direct sunlight when not in use for extended periods.

Warranty

Marshall Excelsior backs the MER413-36 with a limited 5-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing
  • This hose is rated for LP gas (propane) service only. Do not use with natural gas, compressed air, or other gases not listed on the hose labeling.
  • Maximum working pressure is 350 PSIG. Do not exceed this rating under any circumstances.
  • Both fittings are 3/8" female flare -- you will need male flare connections on both mating components. Verify fitting compatibility before purchase.
  • Do not use Teflon tape or pipe sealant on flare fittings. The metal-to-metal flare seat is the seal.
  • Always leak-test connections with soapy water or an approved gas leak detector after installation. Never use an open flame to check for leaks.
  • Do not install in areas subject to foot traffic or where the hose may be pinched, kinked, or crushed by mechanical components.
  • Inspect annually and replace immediately if any cracking, kinking, abrasion through the outer layer, or damaged ferrules are found.
  • Installation should comply with NFPA 58 (Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code) and applicable local codes. If unsure, consult a certified LP gas technician.
