Like all Cummins Onan Green Label air filters, the 140-2379 features a foam pre-cleaner that captures larger airborne particles before they reach the primary paper filter element. Non-Green Label substitutes may use lighter-density filter paper and sealing surfaces that become brittle and crack over time, allowing unfiltered air into the engine intake. Even a small amount of ingested dirt accelerates piston ring and cylinder wear. Replace every 150 hours per the Cummins Onan maintenance schedule.

However, it does not fit the newer generator families: • HGJAB / HGJAC / HGJAA (Marquis Gold / Emerald Advantage / Marquis Platinum) — use 140-3116 • KY / KYD / KVC (MicroQuiet / MicroLite) — use 140-3280 or 140-2105 These are different generator families than the Emerald/Marquis BGE/NHE series. Always confirm your generator's series designation from the identification nameplate before ordering.
