The Cummins Onan 122-0827 is the OEM-specified spin-on oil filter for the older DKC RV, DKD RV, and DKG Quiet Diesel generator series. It supersedes the earlier 185-2123 and is the current Green Label filter for these diesel generator families.
Like all Cummins Onan Green Label oil filters, the 122-0827 features an integrated bypass valve that allows oil to flow during cold starts or if the filter element becomes restricted. Aftermarket "will-fit" filters frequently lack bypass valves — as they trap debris, oil pressure starvation can occur, leading to elevated pressure, failed gaskets, and engine damage. For diesel generators this is especially critical.
Note that oil capacity differs between these generator models — DKC RV and DKD RV require 4 quarts; DKG requires 5 quarts. Confirm your generator's capacity from the operator's manual before performing a full oil service.
