The Cummins Onan A049E501 is a factory-assembled maintenance kit containing the genuine OEM parts needed to perform standard scheduled service on HGJAB, HGJAC, and HGJAE gasoline carburetor generator models. All parts are Cummins Onan Green Label, built to the same specifications as the originals installed at the factory.
The kit covers all five core service items for these gasoline generator families: air filtration, fuel filtration, oil filtration, ignition, and lubrication. Two spark plugs are included because the HGJAB, HGJAC, and HGJAE engines are two-cylinder generators requiring one plug per cylinder. Designed to travel with you, it provides everything needed to complete preventive maintenance at your destination.
This kit is for gasoline carburetor HGJAB, HGJAC, and HGJAE generators only. It is not compatible with EFI models or with LP (propane) variants of these series. 149-2341-01 — Fuel Filter · Qty: 1 Inline gasoline fuel filter. Positioned ahead of the fuel pump in the fuel supply line. Supersedes earlier part number 149-2341. Gasoline only — LP vapor generators do not use this filter. Service interval: 500 hr.
122-0836 — Oil Filter · Qty: 1 Spin-on canister oil filter with bypass valve — allows oil to flow during cold starts or if the filter becomes plugged. Fits HGJAA/HGJAB/HGJAC (Spec A-K). Service interval: 150 hr. Genuine bypass valve is critical — non-bypass aftermarket filters can cause oil starvation and engine damage.
167-1638 — Spark Plug · Qty: 2 Resistive spark plug. Gap: 0.036". Cross-reference: NGK BPR4EY. Two plugs included — one per cylinder on the two-cylinder engine. Service interval: 450 hr. Must use resistive plug — non-resistive plugs can cause generator shutdowns without fault codes.
326-5336 — OnaMax 15W-40 Engine Oil, 1 qt · Qty: 2 Conventional 15W-40 — factory-fill oil used in all new Cummins Onan generators. Two 1-quart bottles included. Oil change interval: 150 hr.
