Give your RV a fresh, clean look with a direct-replacement awning fabric from Carefree of Colorado. This 13.5 oz vinyl fabric fits most 18 ft A&E, Carter, Carefree, Dometic, Faulkner, and Norseman awning arms -- no new hardware required. The integrated White Weatherguard protects the rolled fabric from UV exposure, road debris, and abrasion every mile between campsites.
Torn, faded, or stained awning fabric is one of the most common cosmetic repairs on any RV. Carefree's JU186E00 replaces your entire canopy in a single piece -- valance and main canopy are woven together for a clean, finished look that looks factory-correct when extended.
The Black Shale Fade colorway uses a gradient pattern scaled to complement the proportions of larger rigs. The fabric installs the same way as the original: two polyrods seat into two separate slots in the existing roller tube, and the single hem is secured with standard-size poly cord. If you've replaced awning fabric before, this is a familiar process. First-timers will find the included spline tool and instructions cover the basics.
Heavy-duty vinyl resists UV degradation, mildew, and tearing better than lightweight woven fabrics. Holds color longer in high-sun climates.
The Weatherguard wraps the rolled fabric when the awning is closed, blocking UV rays and shielding the canopy from scrapes and road grime while traveling.
Valance and main canopy are one uniform piece -- no seams to separate or leak. Provides a sleek, classic silhouette when fully extended.
Works with most A&E, Carter, Carefree, Dometic, Faulkner, and Norseman awning arms. Standard polyrod and poly cord sizing keeps fitment straightforward.
Awning fabric is intentionally cut shorter than the labeled awning width. This fabric measures 17 ft 2 in and is designed for awnings labeled as 18 ft. The fabric will sit approximately 5 inches inboard of each arm -- 10 inches total -- which is normal and by design. It prevents the fabric edges from binding against the arms during retraction.
This fabric installs using the two-polyrod system common to Carefree and compatible awning arms. Two polyrods are inserted along the length of the fabric and seat into two corresponding slots in the existing roller tube. No drilling or tube modification is required on most compatible awnings.
The White Weatherguard is not a separate accessory -- it is built into this fabric assembly. When the awning rolls up, the Weatherguard automatically wraps around the outside of the rolled canopy. It acts as a protective sleeve against UV radiation, grit from the road, tree sap, bird droppings, and physical abrasion from low-hanging branches. Without a Weatherguard, rolled fabric degrades significantly faster, especially for rigs that travel frequently or store outdoors year-round.
