The strip runs on 12V DC, making it a direct fit for your rig's house battery system without any inverter or voltage converter.
Pairing is handled through a Bluetooth smartphone app (iOS and Android compatible), which unlocks solid colors across the full RGB spectrum, animated chase sequences, strobe, fade, and a music-reactive mode that pulses the lights to audio picked up by your phone's microphone. The DG72694 is sized and voltaged specifically as a drop-in replacement for factory 12V LED awning light strips on a wide range of RVs. The 32.8 ft length accommodates awnings on most Class A, Class C, fifth wheels, and travel trailers. The strip can be cut at marked cut points (every 3 LEDs / approximately every 4 inches) to fit shorter awning runs without losing function.

The strip attaches via 3M adhesive to most non-wood surfaces including aluminum awning extrusions, fiberglass sidewalls, and ABS plastic trim. Surface must be clean, dry, and above approximately 50 deg F at time of installation for the adhesive to bond properly. Route the power lead to your 12V fused circuit (a 5A fuse is typical for this length). The strip draws approximately 2A at full white -- size your fuse and wire gauge accordingly. Polarity-sensitive: connect red lead to positive, black to negative.
The DG72694 strip carries an IP65-equivalent weatherproof rating (silicone-coated LED surface), suitable for outdoor awning use in rain and dew. However, it is not designed for full submersion. Avoid routing power connectors where standing water can pool. The 3M adhesive is not recommended for bare wood, fabric, or heavily textured surfaces -- use cable clips or staples to supplement adhesion on those substrates.
Cut only at the marked copper pad intervals (every third LED, approximately every 4 inches). After cutting, the exposed end should be capped or sealed with clear silicone to maintain the weatherproof rating. If you need to join two segments, use standard 10mm 4-pin RGB strip connectors (not included). Do not exceed the rated power draw when daisy-chaining additional strips to the same controller.
For a complete awning lighting setup, pair the DG72694 strip with a dedicated 12V rocker switch or inline dimmer for manual override. A quality 12V to USB adapter at your power panel lets you keep your phone charged while using it as the light controller. Consider adding a Valterra or compatible LED puck light inside the awning arm covers for supplemental task lighting.
