Xantrex 82-0123-01 Link Echo Charge Auxiliary Battery Charger, 12V/24V, 15A

Xantrex 82-0123-01 Link Echo Charge Auxiliary Battery Charger, 12V/24V, 15A

Auxiliary battery charging controller for maintaining a secondary or starting battery bank from an already-charging primary battery bank. Supports 12V and 24V systems and provides up to 15 amps of charge current with voltage-limited output protection.

About the Xantrex 82-0123-01 Link Echo Charge

The Xantrex 82-0123-01 Link Echo Charge is an auxiliary battery charger designed to keep a secondary battery bank charged from an existing charging source. It is commonly used to maintain a chassis, starting, or auxiliary battery from a house battery bank that is being charged by an inverter/charger, converter, alternator, solar charger, or other primary charging source.

The Echo Charge automatically senses when the primary battery bank is being charged and then sends controlled charging current to the secondary bank. It is useful in RV, marine, and mobile power systems where one battery bank is charged regularly but a second bank needs maintenance charging without installing a separate full-size charger.

🔋 Auxiliary Charging

Maintains a secondary or starting battery from an existing charging source

⚡ 15A Max Output

Provides up to 15 amps of charge current to the auxiliary battery bank

🔄 12V / 24V Systems

Automatically adjusts for compatible 12V or 24V battery bank systems

🛡️ Voltage Limited

Limits charging voltage to help protect the auxiliary battery bank

Key Features & Benefits

  • Auxiliary Battery Charging: Sends charge current from a charged primary battery bank to a secondary battery bank
  • 15 Amp Maximum Output: Provides up to 15A of charging current for compatible auxiliary or starting batteries
  • 12V and 24V Compatible: Supports compatible 12V or 24V battery systems; both battery banks should use the same DC voltage
  • Automatic Charge Sensing: Begins charging the auxiliary bank when the primary bank reaches charging voltage
  • 13.0V Switch-On in 12V Mode: Starts auxiliary charging when the primary side reaches the listed 12V-mode switch-on voltage
  • 26.0V Switch-On in 24V Mode: Supports 24V systems with a higher switch-on threshold
  • Voltage-Limited Output: Limits output voltage to approximately 14.4V in 12V mode or 28.8V in 24V mode
  • Low Voltage Drop Design: Designed to charge auxiliary or starting batteries from an inverter/charger or other charging source with limited voltage drop
  • Compact Installation: Small 5.5" x 4.5" x 1.25" housing fits many RV and marine electrical compartments
  • Common RV Chassis Battery Solution: Often used to help keep a chassis battery maintained while the house battery bank is being charged

🚐 Common RV, Marine & Mobile Applications

The Xantrex 82-0123-01 Link Echo Charge is commonly used in motorhomes, boats, vans, service vehicles, and mobile power systems with separate house and starting/chassis batteries.

Typical uses include maintaining a chassis battery while the house bank is charged from shore power, keeping a starting battery topped off from a house battery charging system, or supporting auxiliary battery maintenance in two-bank RV and marine electrical systems.

📋 Installation Notes

The Link Echo Charge is installed between a primary battery bank that is receiving charge and an auxiliary battery bank that needs maintenance charging. It does not replace the main battery charger, converter, inverter/charger, alternator, or solar charge controller.

Both battery banks should be the same system voltage and compatible battery type. Confirm wiring size, fuse protection, battery chemistry, charge source voltage, and bank configuration before installation.

⚠️ Electrical Safety

Battery charging equipment installation involves high-current DC wiring and battery safety risks. Incorrect installation can cause electrical shorts, overheated wiring, battery damage, equipment damage, fire, or personal injury.

Installation should be performed by a qualified RV, marine, or electrical technician familiar with battery bank wiring, fusing, and charging-system requirements.

Auxiliary Battery Charging Checklist

Check Before Ordering Why It Matters
System Voltage
The Echo Charge supports 12V or 24V systems, but both battery banks should be the same voltage
Primary Charging Source
The unit needs an existing charger, alternator, solar controller, converter, or inverter/charger charging the primary bank
Auxiliary Bank Purpose
Common uses include maintaining a chassis, starting, or secondary battery bank from the house battery bank
Charge Current Needs
This unit provides up to 15A maximum and is best for maintenance/auxiliary charging, not rapid bulk charging of a large depleted bank
Battery Type Compatibility
Both banks should use compatible battery types and charging voltage requirements
Wire and Fuse Protection
Proper DC wire sizing and fuse protection are required to protect the wiring and connected batteries
Standalone Charging Needs
This is not a standalone AC battery charger; it works from an existing charged/charging primary battery bank

The Xantrex 82-0123-01 Link Echo Charge is an auxiliary battery charging controller for maintaining a secondary battery bank from an already-charging primary bank. Verify system voltage, battery type, charging source, wiring, fuse protection, and charge-current needs before ordering.
