Portable modified sine wave inverter for vehicles, RVs, boats, and mobile power use. Converts 12V DC battery power to 120V AC power for small electronics, compact TVs, laptops, lights, and other compatible AC loads.
The Xantrex 851-0451 XPower 450 is a compact portable inverter that converts 12V DC battery power into 120V AC power for compatible small appliances and electronics. It is designed for mobile use in vehicles, RVs, boats, vans, and work trucks where AC power is needed away from shore power.
The XPower 450 provides modified sine wave AC output and is commonly used for compact TVs, laptops, handheld electronics, compact fluorescent lights, soldering irons, and other compatible AC loads. It can be connected through a 12V lighter socket for lower-power use or connected directly to a battery when higher output is required.
Provides 360 watts of continuous AC output power
Runs from a compatible 12V vehicle or battery system
Two GFCI-protected AC receptacles support multiple compatible loads
Includes overload, over-temperature, over-voltage, low-voltage, and short-circuit protections
The Xantrex 851-0451 XPower 450 is commonly used in cars, trucks, vans, RVs, boats, and service vehicles where small AC loads need to run from a 12V battery source. Typical uses may include laptops, compact TVs, gaming/handheld electronics, small lights, phone/device chargers, soldering irons, and other compatible low-wattage AC devices. Always check the wattage and waveform requirements of the device before connecting it.
• One Xantrex 851-0451 XPower 450 portable inverter • Owner/installation documentation as supplied by manufacturer
For lighter loads, the inverter may be used with a 12V lighter socket connection if the socket and vehicle circuit are rated for the load. Higher output use requires direct battery connection with properly sized wiring and fuse protection. This is a modified sine wave inverter. Some sensitive electronics, battery chargers, medical devices, induction motors, variable-speed tools, and audio/video equipment may require a true sine wave inverter instead.
Do not exceed the inverter’s output rating or the rating of the 12V socket/circuit being used. Overloading a 12V outlet, using undersized wiring, or operating with poor connections can cause overheating, blown fuses, equipment damage, or fire risk. Use direct battery wiring and proper overcurrent protection for higher loads, and follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
The Xantrex 851-0451 XPower 450 is a portable modified sine wave inverter for 12V DC systems. It provides 360W continuous output, 450W for up to 5 minutes, and 700W surge output. Verify load wattage, waveform requirements, 12V circuit rating, wiring, fuse protection, and included accessories before ordering.
