B&W Hitches 2" Receiver Shank Dual Ball + Pintle B&W TS10053B 2-Inch Shank Dual Ball Pintle Hitch Combo

When your towing job demands flexibility -- a pintle hook for military-style lunette rings, a 2-5/16-inch ball for standard gooseneck or conventional trailers, or a 2-inch ball for lighter loads -- the B&W TS10053B handles all three from a single, drop-in receiver shank. Machined from forged steel and finished with a durable powder coat, this is the hitch you reach for when one size does not cover the job.

One Hitch, Three Towing Configurations

The TS10053B is part of B&W's Tow & Stow dual-function pintle lineup, designed for truck owners, fleet operators, emergency responders, and heavy-duty haulers who need to connect to more than one trailer type. The forged-steel pintle hook latches onto standard 3-inch lunette rings used on equipment trailers, military trailers, and utility equipment. Flip the application and either the 2-5/16-inch or 2-inch ball is ready for conventional trailer couplers without swapping hardware.

The 2-inch drop shank slides into any standard 2-inch receiver tube and locks with a standard hitch pin (not included). At 36 lbs, this is a substantial piece of hardware -- that weight reflects real forged-steel construction, not cast filler metal.

Forged Steel Construction

Forged -- not cast -- steel body resists cracking under shock loads and lateral stress typical of pintle towing on uneven terrain.

Dual Ball Sizes Included

Both a 2-5/16-inch and a 2-inch ball are integrated, covering gooseneck trailers, fifth-wheel adapters, and standard coupler trailers.

Standard 2-Inch Receiver Fit

Drops into any 2-inch (Class III, Class IV, or Class V) receiver tube. No adapters needed for most full-size trucks and heavy-duty pickups.

Powder Coat Finish

Black powder coat resists rust and UV degradation for rigs that live outdoors, on job sites, or in coastal environments.

Who Uses a Dual Ball Pintle Combo?

This hitch is popular with:

  • Farm and ranch operators towing equipment trailers (lunette ring) and livestock trailers (standard ball) with the same truck
  • Construction crews connecting to utility trailers, skid-steer trailers, and compressor trailers
  • Military and emergency response vehicle operators requiring lunette ring compatibility
  • RV owners who also tow work trailers or use a tow dolly with a lunette ring
  • Snowplow and landscape contractors running mixed trailer fleets
Pintle Hook Advantage for Rough Terrain

Unlike a standard ball coupler, a pintle hook allows a small amount of articulation at the hitch point, which reduces stress on both the tow vehicle frame and the trailer tongue when crossing ditches, uneven job sites, or off-camber roads. This is why equipment trailers and military equipment have used lunette rings for decades.

Shank Dimensions and Receiver Fit

The TS10053B uses a 2-inch-square shank sized for standard Class III, Class IV, and Class V 2-inch receiver tubes found on full-size half-ton, three-quarter-ton, and one-ton pickup trucks. The overall assembly measures approximately 17 inches long x 12 inches wide x 9 inches tall, consistent with B&W's dual-function pintle series that integrates both the hook body and ball platform on a single shank.

Hitch pin hole diameter is standard 5/8-inch, compatible with common locking hitch pins and standard receiver pins. A locking hitch pin is strongly recommended given the gross trailer weight ratings this hitch supports.

Shank Drop / Rise Note

The "2-inch shank" designation refers to the receiver tube size (2 inches square), not a 2-inch drop. Verify your required drop or rise measurement before ordering. B&W offers the Tow & Stow pintle series in multiple shank drop configurations -- confirm that this specific unit's ball height aligns with your trailer coupler height at your normal loaded tow vehicle ride height.

B&W Tow and Stow Pintle Series Context

B&W Hitches is based in Humboldt, Kansas, and manufactures all of its hitches in the USA. The Tow & Stow dual ball pintle family is designed to reduce the need to carry multiple interchangeable balls or separate receiver inserts. The TS10053B sits in the heavy-capacity segment of this lineup. Other models in the Tow & Stow pintle series vary by shank size, drop/rise, and ball configuration -- the TS10053B is specifically the 2-inch receiver shank variant with dual ball (2-5/16 inch and 2-inch) integrated with the pintle hook.

Installation and Maintenance Tips
  • Apply anti-seize compound to the shank before inserting into the receiver tube to prevent galvanic bonding, especially in northern states where road salt is used.
  • Inspect the pintle hook latch mechanism before each tow -- the safety latch must snap fully closed.
  • Torque all hardware to B&W specifications. Do not use an impact gun to final-torque mounting fasteners.
  • Store hitch indoors or use a receiver tube cover when not in use to protect the powder coat and prevent debris from packing into the receiver bore.
  • Periodically lubricate the pintle hook pivot and latch with a light machine oil or marine-grade grease.
Frequently Paired Accessories

Customers ordering the TS10053B commonly also purchase a 5/8-inch locking hitch pin, a receiver tube cover, and a pintle ring lubricant. If you are towing a trailer with a standard ball coupler alongside lunette ring equipment, confirm which ball size your trailers use (2-inch vs. 2-5/16-inch) before committing to trailer coupler upgrades.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing or Towing
  • Never exceed the Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) or tongue weight capacity of either this hitch OR your tow vehicle receiver, whichever is lower. Your tow vehicle's receiver rating is the binding limit.
  • A locking hitch pin is not included and is not optional for road use -- always secure the shank in the receiver before towing.
  • Confirm the pintle hook latch is fully closed and the safety catch is engaged before every departure. An unsecured pintle latch can release under shock load.
  • This hitch is designed for 2-inch square receiver tubes only. Do not attempt to use with 1-7/8-inch, 1-1/4-inch, or 2-1/2-inch receivers without a proper adapter rated for the load.
  • GTW and tongue weight ratings apply only when the hitch is installed in a properly rated receiver on a properly rated tow vehicle. Exceeding vehicle GVWR or receiver ratings voids capacity claims.
  • Not intended for use as a tow ball for fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailers that require an in-bed hitch. This is a bumper-pull / receiver-mount application only.
  • Weight specifications (36 lbs) reflect the hitch assembly as shipped. Account for this when loading your truck bed near GVWR.
