Installation is straightforward -- connect the red (positive) clip to the positive battery terminal and the black (negative) clip to the negative terminal or a solid chassis ground. The in-line fuse is pre-installed on the positive lead. If you are replacing a clip assembly that failed due to a blown fuse, check the original cause before replacing the fuse and resuming charging to rule out a short or reversed polarity connection.
